Jayla shoved the I.D. card back into her pocket, ignoring the work she was supposed to be doing. She walked out of the entryway and headed over to the library that her family owned. She was an only child; therefore, she only had to share the books with her parents. There weren't many libraries in the city, due to all the fancy gadgets that had been created over time. However, Jayla's parents weren't big into the advancing ways of life and stuck to the old-fashioned encyclopedias and hardcover books. Jayla also enjoyed books and turning the rough, worn down pages filled with adventure.

Jayla's hazelnut eyes scanned the room and all the books sitting on the shelves. She was looking for her favorite book, Freedom from the Tyrant. She looked in between the books, desperate to find her favorite fictional world. Finally after much moving of books and multiple sighs, the young girl finally found the book. Carefully the child pulled it out of the bookshelf and sat down in her favorite chair. It was a large recliner, metallic blue, located in a corner of the small library with large, comfy, cushions and a pattern filled with diamonds, stars, and swirls. She opened up the well-used story and began reading.

After about two hours, she finished the book and walked back over to where she had originally found it. Right as Jayla was going to put her prized possession back into its place, she caught a glance of a leather bound, old-looking book, hidden behind the rest of the books. She set down what she had been reading and attempted to pull out the old creation. It took her a couple of tries, but eventually she managed to get it out of its wedged spot. She took a glance at the title and read, The Diary of a Rebellious Man. She opened up to the first page and read:

I am writing this to inform the future citizens of Thólos that they are being brainwashed. Brainwashed to think that outside of the city is a dangerous place, too dangerous for the people to leave. However there is nothing out there except a free world. Free to do whatever they want, wear what they want, have what they want in any color that they want. However, here in Thólos the ruler doesn't want people to leave to see the free way of living. He wants people to think that how they are living now is the only way of life, and that they are the only civilization left in the world. If any one is to find this diary, continue reading. Try to escape the tyranny of this city. Lead a rebellion or escape to freedom. This is your choice. I choose to tell others so that they may have a chance of freedom, not to live in a life of boring decisions that have been made for you.

Although you have choices to make, you will still not be able to free the whole city. Bursts of rebellion may break through. Some people may sneak out, but that is not enough to free the city from it's evil ruler. There is a prophecy stating how the city will be freed. It goes like this,

Two chosen will rise to the occasion,And run away or start the invasion. While a city is confinedRescue the lost or leave them behind.Quickly they shall runInto the falling sunWith a touch of their hands it will shatterWhat will make the past no longer matter
