Kyo X Neko Reader (fruits basket two-shot)

At His House

You had spent the whole walk to his house in silence. It was awkward but you barely even noticed. He was the one who did.
"Here we are." He says, walking into a house. You follow him inside. "Just drop your things here." He tells you. You drop your bag by the door and he leads you into the main room.
"Hey Kyo, good day at school. You're late." A man says. He's sitting in a chair wearing traditional Japanese clothing. Then he sees you behind Kyo. "You brought a girl home with you? What's your name sweetheart."
You fight to keep your tail from unraveling but it still twitches. "I'm not a sweetheart. And my name is (y/n)."
He gives you an offended look. "Leave her alone Shigure-san. She's just the new kid. She said she could help me with my homework if I helped her with mine." Kyo tells him. You had to admit it was a confusing but impressive lie. Then Yuki walks into the room.
He nearly spits out whatever he's drinking. "You brought the new girl home?" He says.
"Hello. Right here." But he ignores you. And picks a fight with Kyo. "Don't worry, they do this all the time." A girl says behind you. "I'm Honda-san. I live here." You smile she seemed nice. It was too bad she had to deal with them fighting like this.
"Are you here to help Kyo? I can show you where his room is."
"No I can do that." He yells from across the room.
"If you don't stop fighting you won't have time to."
You decide to go ahead and grab your stuff. You head back to the door and grab it. But you walk back in just in time to see Honda-san hug/fall on Kyo. At which point he turns into an orange cat. Right as that happens Yuki turns and sees you on the doorway.
"Crap." He says face palming.
"So that's how it works." You whisper. "That's not what I was expecting." Shigure hears you and walks over.
"How do you know?" He asks.
"Kyo told me. In exchange for something else." You half whisper the last part. He stares down at you. Then he looks over at Kyo-cat.
"Why did you tell someone? You know better than that." He says. "What would you want to know about her that would be important enough for you to tell her that secret."
At that exact moment Kyo changes back into human form. As soon as you see his bare shoulders you look away, guessing that he's naked. You hear him getting changed. "Why don't you ask her?" He says.
You turn around. All eyes are on you. You take a step back. "Come on. Just tell them. They've seen weirder." You sigh. He had a point.
You grab your hat and pull it off your head exposing your large black ears. You unravel your tail and pull it out from under your skirt. Your ears are flat against your head. You aren't used to people seeing you like this. You parents had told you not to tell anyone.
"Wow." Shigure says. He steps forward and reaches out to touch your ears. You hiss and take a step back, your ears flattening even more. This makes him take a step back too.
"She's part cat." Kyo tells them.
"So, I'm guessing that you're not here to help Kyo with school work." Honda-san says. Kyo facepalms and Yuki just looks up at the ceiling. "What?"
"Why don't you come sit down." Shigure suggests.
"Actually, I did ask her to help me with my work." Kyo says.
"Well then go ahead. Nothings stopping you." Yuki says. You can tell they have issues between the two of them by the way Kyo glares at him as he grabs his school bag.
"Come on." He says. You follow him over to a staircase and head up it. He goes into a room on the left. You walk in after him. "Hey, close the door." You close the door and stand there.
"Why did you say you needed my help?" You ask.
"Because I wanted to ask you something." He motions for you to sit next to him on the edge of his bed. You walk over and sit down next to him. "Why did you just start coming to school? They may not have seen you before, but I've seen you out and around places."
You look down. "I don't have anywhere else to go anymore. I can't stay at home like I used to."
He seems confused. "Why not?" You don't say anything. "It can't be that bad."
"Because I don't have a home." You don't even have to lift your head up to know his eyes had widened. "My parents are dead."
"What happened?"
"I don't know. I walked to our house and when I got there, all that was left were charred remains. And I haven't seen them since."

"I'm sorry." He says. He scoots a little closer. You smile, happy for the sympathy. "Its okay." You tell him. He seems a little uncomfortable, but he puts his arm around your shoulder. You look up at him, and he looks down at you. "I'm sorry,I shouldn't have done that." He says pulling his arm away. You notice he looked cute when he was blushing.

"No. That's fine. It was actually okay...what you did." He raises his eyebrows but puts his arm back around your shoulder. You lay your head on his shoulder and close you eyes for a second. "Hey (y/n)."

"Yeah?"

"If that is okay, can I ask you something else?" You nod your head. "Look at me for a second." You bring your eyes to meet his but before you can ask what the question was, he leans in and kisses you. Just a small one, not anything huge, but it gave you a nice, warm feeling.

He pulls out of the kiss. "Was that okay?" You smile.

"Of course."
