Ivy
Once I opened the school door, everything seemed to stop. Everyone stopped doing what they had been doing, and they were staring intently at me. A few moments after, I started to hear whispers floating in the air.
'Hey, isn't she that girl on the news? The one that was abused?'
'That's so sad...'
'I feel like she's doing this because of attention though...'
Sympathetic looks were thrown at me, whilst I made my way to my locker.
I can't let it get to me, I can't, be strong Ivy, don't ever give up.
Blake had left earlier this morning because he had something to do. And weird enough, Ashley left with him too.
But he was concerned enough to ask one of the guys in the house to send me to school, so I didn't have to walk three thousand miles. (A/N: just kidding; but seriously, there's a song called 3000 miles by Emblem3. Go listen!)
As soon as I was at my locker, I found Ashley leaning against the locker beside mine, waiting for me.
"Hey, where did you go this morning?" I asked Ashley.
"Oh, nothing... I just had something to do."
"Oh, okay then. Where's Blake though?"
I had found myself growing closer and closer to Blake after the whole... Incident. I felt that he was so caring and concerned about me. I mean, he is the only guy that dares to come near me. And slowly but surely, he's digging his way to my heart. My heart that's surrounded with tall thick walls. He's the only guy that dares to defend me. It's a first.
"Uh... He's busy with something, but you'll see him in class later, don't worry," Ashley sent me a small smile.
"Well, okay then. Let's go."
After taking out the books needed for the lesson, we walked towards the room. There was chattering throughout the whole lesson, I could always here my name here and there. They were all talking about me.
I could actually feel annoyance and frustration rolling of Blake who was sitting just next to me. I was just about to ask him what had happened when he did something that would totally land him in detention...
He slammed his hands on his desk, stood up ferociously, then growled. Damn, that was hot. Wait, wha- what was I thinking?
"If you don't stop talking about Ivy now... You will get it from me. Every. One. Of. You. And mark my words, when I say it, I mean it."
He said this while glaring at everyone in the room. I could see everyone cower in fear and bow their heads in respect. Why though? Oh and when I mean everyone, I mean including the teacher.
"Hey Blake, it's alright. I'm alright. I'm used to it. It's okay." I told him, trying to calm him down. And it did, he slowly sat down again, and his gaze was much more gentle.
"No. No. It is not okay. I promised that I'll protect you. And I will." He said softly while looking at me in the eye. His eyes are so nice.
The lesson was soon over and surprisingly, the teacher didn't even comment anything on Blake's outburst. He even let it slide. I sighed in relief as he didn't give Blake detention, which I was so thankful for as I didn't want Blake to get in trouble because of me.
We made our way to our usual table as Blake went to get our food. After he came back, we chit chatted as usual until I couldn't help but ask again.
"Hey, where did you go this morning? The two of you." I asked as I raised my eyebrow, looking at both Ashley and Blake.
"Uh... We– uh, we-" Blake was nervously rubbing the back of his neck.
"Just spit it out already."
"We... We were planning a welcome back party for Cameron at my house. If you mind, we could switch venues and-"
"Who's Cameron?"
"What?"
"Who's Cameron?" I prod again.
"Oh, uh he's my best friend."
"Oh," I replied.
"Is it done?"
Blake looked at me questioningly. "Is what done?"
"Are the preparations for the party done?" I asked again.
"Oh. No... But we're close to it."
"I'll help you guys then."
Blake looked shocked but he soon nodded his head.
The day flew by pretty fast, as I soon found myself in the same routine. Stretch, blow, tie, hang. I was in charge of the balloons.
We have decided to cook a variety of food, blow hundreds of balloons to decorate the place. A 'Welcome Back, Cameron!' banner was to be placed at the entrance and confetti was being prepared to be thrown at Cameron when he steps in. Doing all of these with the help of everyone in the house of course. It seems as though everyone knows who Cameron is...
We went to our local supermarket after school to buy the supplies needed. Balloons, confetti, paper plates and others.
A few hours later, the male lead finally appeared. He walked into the house wearing a pair of fitting black jeans, and a grey v neck. His hair was tousled, black, with streaks of dark brown. Blue eyes, tanned skin, lean body. He looked amazing, to be honest.
I was standing at the top of the stairs, while Blake, Ashley and all of the others were down.
I could feel Cameron's eyes on me. Damn it. Ashley insisted me on wearing a dress. Ugh.
---
We were all having fun, talking and all when Blake thought it'd be perfect to ruin the night by introducing me to Cameron.
No offence but, Cameron was one weird guy. He had been staring at me the whole damn time. What?
"Ivy, could you come here for a moment?" Blake asked me. I looked over to Cameron standing opposite of him.
I couldn't possibly reject Blake, could I? I walked as slowly as I could towards Blake, avoiding any eye contact with Cameron.
"What's up?" I asked Blake.
"Oh, just wanted to introduce you to my best friend, Cameron." Blake grinned while pointing to Cameron.
Deep breath, Ivy, you can do this.
I looked at Cameron, and oh my god, it was the worst move ever. I locked eyes with him; his eyes were blue, the lightest of them all, surrounded by streaks of black. It was beautiful.
But staring too long would make him think that I'm interested in him, I couldn't let him think that way could I? I mean isn't Blake the one that I... The one that I like? Wait why am I even questioning this?
But I couldn't look away no matter how much I tried. It was like something was pulling me towards him. I felt close to a stranger?

Hello! Hope this chapter is long enough. And I've recently watched a very inspirational talk. And finally realised that personality matters much more than the appearance. I mean when you make friends, you'll find that you won't care about the appearance if you like their personality. Always remember, personality over appearance!
I'll end with a quote by Nick Vujicic.
"Let's say you that have a problem in your life. And you want to give up now. Can you imagine if someone ten years older whose gone through the exact same thing that you have – actually gotten through it and came to you and said, 'You know what? I know what it feels. I've been there! I've been going through what you're going through now. But I'm still here.'"
stay positive(:
