Chapter17

~Michaela's POV~
I'm so happy Mitch forgave me. I don't know what I would have done. It's all my fault. I can't keep doing this to him. I just can't. I love him so much. And I keep breaking his heart. I cry. Mitch walks in. As soon as he sees me crying he runs to me and pulls me into a hug.

"What wrong babe?" He asks.

"I'm just," I start, "so sorry for what's been happening between us."

"I forgive you for it all. Please don't cry. When you're sad I'm sad and you sad because you thought I was sad so the fact that your sad is making me sad and you don't want me to be sad so stop." He says. I laugh.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

~Jerome's POV~
I'm on my way to see Nicole. Things between me and her have been going well. We've been together for months. I love her. Today's the day I let her know. Suddenly my phone vibrates. It's Nicole. She's texting me.

Nicole: Where are you????

Jerome: I'm on my way.

Nicole: Well hurry up I miss you.

Jerome: I've only been gone for and hour.

Nicole: That's an hour too long.

Jerome: I miss you too.

That was the last text I sent, before I saw the car hit mine and before things went black.

~Mitch's POV~
Me and Michaela are watching a movie. I'm a little upset about her and Vikk but I'm not going to tell her that. And besides. I love her. Always will. Then my phone rings. I pause the movie. Michaela groans.

"Come on its my favorite part." She whines.

"Calm down. Goodness." I say. She laughs. I look at the number on my phone. It the hospital. No Vikk not again. Is my first though.

"He-he-hello?" I say.

"Hi is this Mitchell Hughes?" The voice says.

"Yes this is him. Please don't tell me you're calling about Vikk?"

"Who's Vikk? I'm calling about a Jerome Aceti."

And in that moment my heart felt like it fell out of my chest.

"Th-thank you." I say and I hang up.

"Who was it?" Michaela asks.

"The hospital." I say. By the look on her face I could tell she though it was Vikk too. "It's Jerome." I say.

~Time skip to the hospital~

~Michaela's POV~

We're here for a Jerome Aceti." I tell the people at the front l desk. Mitch would've done it but he was crying so hard.

"Right this way." She says leading us to a room.
When we get to the room Jerome is awake.

"Nicole!" He screams. "Mitch!"

"No love for me?" I say.

"Michaela!" He screams.

"Better." We all laugh and hug him.

"What happened?" Mitch asks.

"Well," he starts, "I was on my way to see Nicole. I was so distracted and what to say, I ran a red light. I got hit and went unconscious. I woke up here about a half hour ago."

Mitch is in the corner of the room pacing, while Nicole holds Jerome's hand."

"I killed him," Jerome says crying, "the guy who hit me. I killed him."

We all tried as best as we could to console Jerome.

"He had a daughter you know. And a wife. They were both in the car. I killed his wife too. I turned that little girl into an orphan. She's not even a year old."

He's crying so much so we all left. He just wanted to be alone with Nicole.

~Nicole's POV~

"I'm so happy you're okay." I tell Jerome as he pulls me onto the hospital bed into his arms.

"I'm just happy you're here." He told me.

"You said when you were hit, you were on your way to tell me something."

"Oh yeah, that." He says. "I wanted I tell you... um... That I love you."

All I could do was smile. "I love you too." I say still smiling like the dork I am.

We ended up making out. For awhile. I'm not gonna go into the details.

"Nicole um, I'm thinking of adopting that little girl. And I want you to raise her with me."

"What do you mean?" I ask him hoping he'll say what I think he going to say.

"Will you marry me?" He asks. He said what I though he was gonna say.

"Yes! Yes I'll marry you!" I scream.

He smiles. I do too. He then pulled a ring out from under him.

"Where did you get that?" I ask him.

"Oh, I was also and my way to you to propose."
