Where did you go?
Was it something I said?
If love is the crime they say it is,
I might as well be dead.
I can't help the way I am,
my emotions run too deep,
You left without explaining why,
No more dreaming when I sleep.
There must be something wrong with me,
all friends take that that road,
I thought you were different,
you helped me carry my heavy load.
But it's weight brought you down,
like a bad drama role,
just a glimpse inside of me,
the anguish in my soul.
Where did you go?
Needed you to stay,
If only to play.
Now I sit alone in silence,
Afraid to say,
Anything to anyone,...
Destined to be the lonely one.
It's something that's hard to bear,
turn around and no one is ever there.
You know I feel the words I write,
Alone with no friend in sight.
Only words on a page,
Like an old sage,
Sitting on my mountain top,
waiting for the next to try.
Hoping someone shows up before I die.
