He hated it.
He hated the way those men you both passed by look at you with hungry eyes before scowling at the sight of him standing closely beside you.
Likewise, you had your share of... annoyance as you'd like to call it.
For one, the group of girls that keep squealing at the sight of your freckled companion was starting to tick you off. And the way they looked at you like you were getting in their way was starting to rub you the wrong way.
But then again, you really couldn't blame them for the envy they must have been feeling seeing you with such a dashing man standing closely beside you. Not that you'll ever admit it to the idiot in question.
Without the get-up, that you're assuming was the work a certain eavesdropping horse, the man beside you was already princely by the way he acted and treated those around him.
He treated them with unconditional kindness even if they didn't want it. You, being the case at point of course.
He also just wouldn't leave anyone who was troubled alone even if they were already so close to ripping his face off. You, being also the case at point here. And you literally almost clawed his face off for being too close while thinking: "does he not know the value of personal space?!"
But then again, it was due to those small act of kindness that you had develop a strong....Attachment to the freckled young man. A fact that you decided that you would never admit to him as long as you lived.
That's why dressing him to look a prince was too much of an overkill for the man's charm. Another thing that you will never admit to anyone as long as there was air in your lungs.
He was, after all, the first person who had the guts to approach you despite the walls you've put up around to keep everyone one out. The first and only person you couldn't seem to keep out
And admitting such things to the man in question himself would probably make you both feel awkward about each other. At least, that was what you thought.
Occupied by your own thoughts as you walked the busy streets of the district, you didn't notice that your surroundings had suddenly become crowded nor the fact that your sole companion stopped by a shop until you felt someone took hold of your hand.
You were about to punch the poor bastard square on the face the moment you turn around but when you saw just who it was you barely stopped your fist from making an impact from a certain freckled idiot's idiotic face.
"Damn it, Marco." You growled at the said man as you pulled your fist, which was a hair's breath away from his chin. "I could have punched you and broke your jaw!" You added, glaring up at the tall man who laughed and apologized nervously.
(A/n: yes, you do uppercuts because you're short. Sue me. No. Don't. I was just joking!)
"I was calling out to you but you weren't turning around and just kept walking further away from me." He explained himself as he laughed nervously.
"So you decided to just take my hand?" You asked, a bit annoyed for some reason.
"Y-yeah." He answered sheepishly as he scratched the back of his neck.
"I see... You can let go of it now." You said, not shaking his hand off.
"Uhm.. Well..." He started to say something as his eyes flickering back and forth towards the large crowd of people ahead.
"What is it?" You asked confused with a little impatience tainting your voice.
"Would you mind staying like this for a while?" He asked, his cheeks being dusted by a light pink hue, as his eyes continued to flicker. "There's a large crowd ahead you see. And I don't want us to get separated." He explained.
"And if I refuse?" You asked, absolutely against the idea.
"I wouldn't mind carrying you all the way to the other side." He smiled at you sweetly yet menacingly, leaving you to comply with his first option.
After all, he wasn't going to let someone else take hold of you today.
