★Chapter 8★
*A few weeks later*
After that day I had been constantly paranoid about Trey. I always thought that he would be there when I was alone, and I kept looking behind my back. Skyler, I knew, was worrying. I didn't want him too, so I kept trying to play it off, but he was able to see right through it. He always has been.
Its been a few weeks since our 'crew' I guess you could say, found out about Skyler and I. Skyler was excited. Me, not so much. He was happy that we were able to stay close in public-- I mean, I am too, but I guess I'm just to paranoid about Trey right now.
Sally, one if my mothers nurses and the receptionist, said that she was off that day because her son had a stomach bug and had to be picked up from school. And then the other nurse was out on her vacation for a week. So, no one saw Trey come in, and no one saw him go out. I would have thought that he was bluffing, but there were three reasons why I didn't.
One, and as much as I hate to admitt it, I know Trey. We used to be close, him, my brother, and I.
Two. Trey doesn't, under any reason, bluff.
And three. There was a note folded in my mother's hand, with only three words on it.
'Love ya, ma.'
First of all, that's the creepy-est thing I have ever seen, and I felt like I was in a scene where the creepy stalker dude that's in love with the girl stalks her family and threatens their live. Which, technically, I am living. But it has more of a twist to it. And also.... that's what my brother used to say to her before leaving for school. It killed me inside to see that. And scared me shitless.
It's already close to the end of February, and my I birthday is coming up soon. Skyler's is in July, so he still has a long way to go, but I on the other hand have about a day until my birthday. My birthday was on Saturday and it was currently Thursday.
Eighteen years old already, and my mother will miss it. Just like all the other times in the last three years.
Right now they were all in the lunch room, and I was currently walking towards the table, bypassing the lunch line. I wasn't very hungry and I haven't been eating much because of stress, only when Skyler practically shoved food down my throat.
Skyler turned in his seat as Jess waved at me, sitting next to Tyler with their hands entwined. Hanna was chatting quietly with Nixon, and Gabbie was sitting a little closer than normal to Jason. Andrew was nowhere to be seen. Skyler smiled at me.
"Hey, princess. Aren't you hungry?" He asked, grabbing my hand and pulling me onto his lap instead of on the seat next to him. I shook my head as I leaned into him. I felt him sigh as the crew looked at us in interest. They seemed to do that a lot, like we were their favorite drama film.
"Princess, you have to eat," he pleaded, tightening his hands around my waist. I shook my head looking back at him, ignoring the entertained eyes glued to us like a little kid to a TV screen.
"Clara," he warned as I wrapped my arms around his neck, leaning my forehead against his while still looking into his eyes. He sighed and kissed me briefly.
"At least eat a fruit or something," he asked, his eyes pleading. I sighed and looked back at the table, finding a green apple and snatching it off Nixon's tray.
"Hey, I was gonna eat that!" He yelled dramatically, making Hanna snort and Jason almost choke on his water at how high.his voice went. I laughed and bite into the apple, turning to a chuckling Skyler. He leaned into my ear as Gabbie patted Jason's back, Hanna laughing with Nixon.
