Chapter 4

I didn't pack for Candy's house. I knew she was playing a joke. It was

a Saturday Morning. Ruby popped her head round the door.

'Charlie! Haven't you packed for Candy's house? We're going in 10

minutes.'

So it was true.

Maybe she had mistaked Ruby for mum.

I packed for 5 days at her house.

We arrived and rang the doorbell.

'Hello. I am Mustard, Candy's mum. We shall drop Charlie off after

school on Wednesday. It's a great pleasure to have her. Come in

Charlie.' Mustard said.

I stepped inside the house.

'Bye Ruby.' And my sister was gone.

I went upstairs to Candy's room.

'Hi.' Candy said. 'Sorry about yesterday.'

'It's fine.' I grumbled.

Nighttime came. I had a wierd feeling.

'You can sleep on that sofa.' Candy said, pointing at the smaller sofa.

I didn't complain. Candy was so boring. It was more fun at Maddy's

house.

We went to bed about 9ish...

'This house is boring!' I thought.

I pretended to go to sleep until Candy was. I got out slowly and

tiptoed to the kitchen. I knew this was wrong but I was hungry. I

opened the fridge but nothing was in there apart from an orange. I

shrugged assuming that they were going shopping tomorrow for food. I

picked up the orange. It smelt... Wierd... It smelt like salt with

lemon mixed with a bit of cherry medicine.

'what are you doing?!' Candy appeared in the doorway, she looked angry.

'I'm uh hungry..' I whispered.

'From all the running 5 years ago?' A smirk formed on her face. I had

seen that smirk before.

'How d-do you know?' I stammered.

'I was there. Remember?' Candy pulled off something from her body. Her

hair had grown shorter like a boy's and her arms and body had grown

more muscular. Her deep blue eyes had been changed into a sparkling

green. Candy wasn't Candy. She was Ricky.
