Chapter 6 Part 2

"Wh-what...?" shaken a little I stammer through the question "d-does he know?" he shakes his head no "how have you hidden this all these years?"

"I was lucky I was strong enough to pass for moderate strength demon so I acted weak normally and when it was time to fight I used my full strength"

"You could always come back with me Andre, you would be safe there"

He smiles softly " something tells me I won't be welcome in Christopher's home, no matter how I try to make up for the horrible thing that Chester has made me do I'm still just the kid who helped a psychopath kidnap his boyfriend an allowed him to be tortured....allowed one of my own kind to be subjected to such treatment to save my own skin " shaking his head he continued "no of all places, that will never be a place where I am welcome" smiling again "but just one more hour and your nightmare will be over.

"Sophia are you ready to go?" I yell heading for the door "we need to hurry, it's a long drive to the area where we met.

" She walks down the stairs helping a very distraught Orion who seems to be getting weaker every minute. I reach down and pick him up and place my hand against his head feeling the growing warmth seeping into my hand.

"Sophia he's got a fever he needs to be more bundled its cold outside can you grab a hat and another coat?" she mentally reprimands herself and nods "of course I should have done that on my own I think I'm just distracted." She hurries and grabs the clothing helping him get re-dressed and walks him to the car leaving him in my lap as I climb into the driver seat he cuddles against my chest and doesn't move.

Sophia follows behind and gets in. "Chris I can hold him if you want..." I look down at him and shake my head "I think I will hold onto him he seems comfortable and I want to keep an eye on him, I'm a bit concerned about him."

With that we set on the long drive to get to Martin.

A few minutes into the ride I can feel that Orion has fallen asleep and I can see that Sophia is staring and me and hasn't said anything and it is grating on my already strained nerves.

"Sophia is there something on your mind? If not would you mind not staring at me like that? It's making me uncomfortable".

She looks away for a moment and then back into my eyes. "Why weren't you with him....why was he alone....where were you? What happened with you two at the party?"

Trying to focus on the road and not burst into tears.

" we got into a fight I was drunk....and I scared him... I.... hurt him....and I was a coward and ran away from him when I realized what I had done. There are new burns just as Chester said and they came from me... I hurt him because I was angry and then I left him alone in the middle of the forest where god knows what could have gotten to him. I left him and now he's been taken....beaten....raped by the same people I should have killed him when I had the chance. So that's where I was that's why he was alone OK!"
