"You must be Diane, I'm Katelyn, I've heard so much about you" my father's new wife smiled pulling me into a heart-warming hug." The hug made my mind travel back to my mother's hugs, she would always squish me into one when I refuse but as soon as her body connects to mine, I feel like melting right then and there in her warn embraces. She might have forced me into leaving my life back in California but I knew she was doing it for the better.

"Madalyn, Jackson I told you to hurry up not die up there" her voice instinctively raised as she released me from her arms. I didn't know who she was calling but seeing the two bodies running down the stairs told me that Katelyn was related to them, them probably being her kids seeing the resemblance they had in my step-mother and father. They looked to be the same age probably twins but nowhere near identical.

"Diane, these are my kids Madalyn and Jackson. Guys this is Diane, your fathers daughter" she introduced pointing to the different kids even though their gender kind of gave it away completely. I sent a small wave to the two who were eyeing me carefully from head to toe not missing a spot. I might be confident and everything but there is a limit and that's where these two have reached it to the dot and maybe further.

"She sure as hell doesn't look like him, are you sure she isn't adopted" Madalyn scoffed meeting her mother's eyes which were already glaring at her daughter's rude remark. I didn't blame her though because that wasn't the first time someone has said the words to me. My father being well known everywhere meant everyone knew who he is and what he looks like so it made perfect sense for anyone out there to judge. Though I didn't really care because they were simply stating their opinion which I'm not allowed to have a say in, it's only what they think.

"Madalyn don't be rude" my father's voice popped out from behind me releasing a small shriek from my mouth which passed in between my lips straight to the air. "No matter how long I haven't seen the girl, she is still my daughter which would make the two of you sisters meaning you're going to be spending a lot of time together" he smirked towards my step-sister whose jaw immediately dropped to the floor in shock from the words that had come out of her father's mouth. Maybe we could play with this opportunity that had thankfully popped up for me.

Not wanting to hear anything else from anyone, Madalyn stomped her foot on the floor before running back the way she came. "Sorry about my sister, she has a bit of an attitude when it comes to new people or people she doesn't know personally, or you know actually I think it's just people in general" Jackson who hadn't uttered a word grabbed my attention making me take note of the smirk making home on his lips. Taking a closer look at the boy, he looked a lot more like his father while Madalyn looked like her mother who has something about her, something that gives a close resemblance to her. It made me understand how Madelyn could be a lot closer to me than anyone could ever be.

"I've dealt with people like her, might just need a face readjustment to bring back the girl within" I chuckled cracking my fists playfully as if I were to actually hit her. The kid looked like the type to be a class clown meaning that he would be a lot calmer to get to be around. The height, that was something different seeing as I was still short me and he looked a lot taller meaning that I would be an ant beside him. I try to avoid tall people which would also mean to not live with them.

"Diane the same thing goes to you as well you know, just because you're new to this place doesn't mean you're getting treated differently" my father who was now propped beside my Katelyn snapped, his normally bubbly blue eyes turning a few shades darker making the man look a lot more intimidating and unapproachable. Not that anyone would attempt to do so, by the looks of it, he was always surrounded by body guards at each corner.

I rolled my eyes walking back to the limo which only held one of my suitcases seeing as the rest were going to be delivered later on today. I would have left this one with the rest but I kind of needed clothes for the day planning on taking a walk around the place examining the area in attempts to get used to it. Though I hadn't really thought about getting past all these men in suits surrounding the large house.
