Shocked, I stood up shakily, ignoring his offered hand.
"H-hi," I stuttered nervously. I bent down to pick up the things that had fallen out of my bag, only for it to have disappeared right in front of my eyes. I glanced over to Jacob, who was holding it up high in the air with a cheesy smirk on his face.
"Need this? It'll owe ya pretty lady." He cheesly stated. I groaned shutting my eyes and facepalming myself for being so stupid. Why didn't I just go the other way?
"What would I owe you," I said, fumbling with the hem of my shirt.
"Your number and name." He smiled as he lowered the bag. My face grew hot, feeling my cheeks growing redder by the minute. Jacob? Most popular boy in school Jacob? Football captain Jacob? He wanted MY name and MY number?
"My name is Avery Willows, and here you go," I managed to say writing out my number on a piece of paper that had slipped out of my bag. I handed it to him and exchange he handed me my bag with a curt nod of his head.
"Thank you fine lady. I'm Jacob Faughtner. See you around hopefully!" Jacob called before strutting off to the boys locker room.

"WWWHHHHAATTTT!" Johanna screeched, after hearing what I told her. I laughed, as her long blonde hair flew up and down with her as she jumped. Her bright blue eyes lit up with excitement. I knew she was planning something.
"Calm down Jo. It's nothing. Don't start planning marriage dates." I smiled, rolling my eyes. She frowned and stuck her tongue out teasingly at me.
"Don't make me eat your soul woman." She replied as she hopped outside, with me following behind. I breathed in the fresh air and sighed shutting my eyes. After standing there for a while, I slowly turned around to see Coach Turner's disapproving face.
"Willows! Don't just stand there! Get that booty in gear!" She retorted as I hurriely started up a jog on the track. I catched up with Johanna, barely. I smiled wearily at her as she rolled her eyes. I could see the finish line up ahead. Just half an hour left. I thought. I breathed in a fresh gust of air and pushed my body farther, pumping my arms and legs. I enjoyed the breeze on my face as my body came into rythm with my mind. It took awhile for my body to get used to it. But eventually, it did.

"Averyyyyy!!!" Someone shrieked loudly. I turned around and smiled to see that it was Diana, or Chapstick we liked to call her. Yes, Chapstick. She had this obsession over different types of Chapstick... it kinda stuck.
"Aye chappy! Vas happenin'?" I smiled resting my elbow on her shoulder. It was difficult, because she was taller.
"Merp! Merp! Merp! Let's go get Johanna!!" She stated, pushing aside my question. I sighed and pointed off to where Johanna had gone. Chapstick skipped down the direction I had pointed. I was alone, again. Suddenly, I heard my phone vibrate in my pocket.

'Hay girl! What's happenin'? Wanna hang out later?'
Jacob texted me. As usual my hearted beated faster thinking about him. It has been only 2 hours since he got my number and now he was texting me to hang out?

'Sure! Meet me at The Rockets around 8! xx'
The Rockets was the hang out for all teenagers nowadays. We liked to get coffee or smoothies there and just talk to others of our age group. You could apply to perform there, but no one has because of Jennifer. It was her show. She made fun of anyone else that went up there. I knew I wouldn't do it. But someday I knew Johanna would make me. She always wanted to go up there but not alone. So she wanted me to go. I told her someday, but not now. My shyness wouldn't give me the strength to.
I skipped up the stairs to my room with a giant smile plastered on my face. Shifting through my clothes, I picked up a red ruffly blouse to match my white lace skirt. I looked over by my shoe pile and found a pair of shiny black flats. I slipped them on and looked at myself in the mirror. I let my hair down, smiling at how wavey it had gotten. I put on some black eyeliner and clear lip gloss leaving my diamond studs in. I was ready to go.

"Hey Av-whoa! You look hot!" Jacob exclaimed as I walked in. My face flushed three different shades of red.
"H-hi Jacob." I stuttered sitting down next to him and looking at my shoes. I could feel his eyes on me. I looked up and was met with his eyes.
"You look very pretty. I was wondering about something." He said running his fingers through his hair.
"What was that?" I inquired rasing an eyebrow.
"Would you mind tutoring me in Algebra?" He nervously stated. I smiled and nodded my head. Suddenly, the owner of The Rockets came running up to me.
"Avery right? Well I'm looking for someone to perform this week. I heard you can sing. Do you mind??" My eyes widened at this. Only Johanna knew I could sing. How could this get out?
"H-how did you know?" I managed to say. He held up a tape of me and Johanna on one of our sleepovers. The one where I was singing and dancing... in my pajamas, wearing a green facial mask. My face must had gone pale white because the next thing I knew, Jacob was asking me if I was about to throw up.
My life was over.
