I hid my head in Jacob's shoulder as my face grew redder. My whole body was shaking. This couldn't be happening. That video was private. Nobody was supposed to see it. How many other people have seen it? Who could've gotten it?
"There, there. It's okay. It's not that big of a deal Avery." Jacob comforted me by rubbing my back gently. That single movement sent tingles up my spine. If I wasn't thinking about this whole thing, I would be freaking out. The owner of The Rockets had given me the video back and apologized for the mess. I had put the video in my bag for safe keeping.
"I-I'll be okay. Just as long as no one else has seen it." I stuttered. My shyness had taken over. That was most likely why I was freaking out at this point. I sighed shakily and backed away from Jacob's shoulder. I finally calmed down and could feel the heat rising in my cheeks. Jacob Faughtner was comforting ME. The most popular boy in school noticed me, the middle class loser, and now was comforting me in public. This was a dream. Totally. I watched as Jacob got up and walked to the counter to go buy us some drinks. I thought of Johanna all of the sudden, where was she? I pushed the thought out of my mind. She was fine.
"Here you go, Avery. Drink up." Jacob said pushing the drink into my hand. I smiled up at him as he sat next to me.
"Thank you Jacob. For everything." I blurted out. I bit my lip and looked down at my coffee averting his eyes.
"It's no problem Avery. Hey, I'd like to get to know you more." He smiled and took a sip of his coffee. I could feel his eyes on me. It was at this point that I found out, no matter how popular a person is, they are still a person. A normal human being. And it didn't matter if they were popular or not.
"Me too. Why don't we hang out before homeroom tomorrow?" I grinned up at him, as my dimples showed profoundly on my cheeks.
"I wouldn't mind that. I'd love to Avery." He agreed as we clinked our coffees together in agreement.

I felt someone shaking me awake.
"UGGGHHHHH. Is it morning alreeaaaddyyyy???" I grumbled covering my face with my blanket.
"YES. BITCH GET YO ASS OUTTA BED. WE HAVE EARLY ORCHESTRA." I heard Johanna's voice screech at me before a pillow came in contact with my face.
"WOMAN. I WILL GET UP. NOW CALM YOUR ASS DOWN." I growled as I sat up. I blinked and moaned loudly seeing my best friend's angry eyes stare into my soul. Getting up from my nice warm bed, I shivered and trudged over to my closet.
"Tell me why we signed up for this again?" I sighed as I shifted through my clothes.
"It's because you wanted to be musical. So HURRY UP." She growled as she stomped out of my room.
"Well then." I grumbled under my breath as I picked out a Blood On The Dance floor t-shirt and some bright blue jeans. I left my hair down to cover my shoulders. I slipped some silver delicate hoops in my ears and skipped over to my shoe pile to discover some new ones. I picked out my white converse and unconsiously put some eyeliner on.
"I'M READDYYYYYY." I screeched down to Johanna as I picked up my bag. I skipped down the stairs and looked over my the kitchen.
"Wait, wait, wait. Lemme get some food in my tummy." I squeaked as I ran over to the fridge. I quickly grabbed an apple and ran back to Johanna.
"Finally. We're late. Got your violin?" She questioned. I nodded with the apple in my mouth and holding up my case. Yes, I do play violin. So does Johanna. We started together. But she's a better violin player than me. She's amazing at it. I smile to myself and munch on my apple as we walk to school.
"GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS AND WALK IN." Johanna screamed from behind the door. I chuckled and walked into the school. I located the stage and walked into the large room. I shivered feeling the breeze of air-condiontioning on my arms and face. I ran up to the stage to catch up with Johanna. I placed my case on the table and unlatched the sides to flip it open. I carefully lifted my violin out and slid my shoulder rest on. I grabbed my bow and walked over to my seat.
Johanna walked over to her seat right next to me and smiled resting her violin onto her shoulder. I did the same and raised up my bow. The conducter raised her hands and gave us the cue to start playing. I smiled and breathed in calmly. Playing my violin made me happy. I loved doing it. As I played on i felt the emotion of pride rush over me. I was doing well for once.
After we finished packing up I skipped over to Johanna and smiled. I grabbed my back pack and we headed out of the stage. Suddenly, as I was walking to my locker, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned around and smiled. It was Akinao, my best Asian friend. I wrapped my arms around him and squeezed, hugging him tightly.
"OH MY GOSH. Akinao! My best friend! Where have you been boy??" I shrieked as I bounce up and down after I had let him go. He chuckled and rolled his eyes.
"I was where I always am! OPEN YOUR EYES WOMAN." He responded with a smirk. I rolled my eyes and smiled brightly, skipping over to my locker the rest of the way. I heard footsteps behind me, knowing he had followed.
"You know you want this BIG banana." He whispered seductially into my ear. I burst out laughing, using my other arm to clutch my stomach. This is why he is my best friend. I took in a big breath and put my combination into my locker to open it. I stuffed my back pack inside and took out my stuff for English and Algebra.
"Yes. Why maybe I do. DON'T TEMPT ME!" I smirked as I walked off to homeroom. Jacob was there, waiting for me. His smile was so big I thought I would break my cheekbones smiling back. He stepped forward and wrapped his arms around me. I wrapped my free arm around him carefully in surprise. I could feel him smile behind my back as he carefully let me go.
"Avery! I missed you." He beamed. I felt my cheeks heat up quickly as I responded.
"I missed you too Jacob." I said as I shifted my books on my arm. I looked at him in surprise as a faint redness swept across his cheeks. I felt my cheeks grow hotter and I smiled sheepishly.
"Well... I was wondering... to get to know each other more... if..." He trailed on, averting his eyes to his feet. I raised my eyebrows questionly feelings butterflies grow in my stomach.
"Yes Jacob?" I questioned shifting from foot to foot. This became awkward very quickly.
"Avery would you mind going on a date with me?" He annouced sheepishly looking up. My cheeks burst into flames and I nodded quickly. His grin was so big it looked like his muscles were straining. He quickly walked forward and wrapped my small figure in his arms. I felt my feet leave the ground and all my books fell. I wrapped my arms around his neck quickly to keep from falling back onto the ground as he spun me around. I giggled quietly as he set me down on my feet. I looked at his flustered face and smiled brightly.
"I should go to English you doof. See you later." I giggled as I walked off to the next hallway. I practically skipped the whole way down. He had asked me out. Jacob asked me out. I let out a squeal and bounced up and down before entering the English room. I could feel everyones eyes on me. I was late. But then I looked up at the clock. I wasn't late...why were they staring at me?
"Hi honey!" I heard a familer voice call out. I looked to the front of the room before walking backwards into the seat behind me. My dad was at the front of the room. As a subsitute. I heard a few murmurs and giggles behind me.
My life was offically over.
