Chapter 31: Watching From A Distance

Minori has arrived somewhere near Room 301 and is now waiting for Gaara, Temari and Kankuro including Sasuke, Naruto and Sakura.

To think that Naruto and Sakura would be taking the exam. I guess I must've underestimated them..., thought Minori.

"Minori-san!" Minori turns around, responding to someone's call.

"Oh, Ibiki-sensei!" Minori approaches him.

Morino Ibiki is a Tokubetsu Jonin of Konohagakure. He just so happens to be The First Examiner of The Chuunin Exams.

"To think that Ibiki-sensei would be The First Examiner of The Chuunin Exams..." Minori places both her hands behind her head.

"Got a problem with that?" Ibiki said, frightening Minori a bit.

"Nope! Not at all!" Minori puts down her hand.

"Where are they?" Ibiki asks.

"You mean Gaara and the others? They're on their way!" She answers.

"I see. Be sure to keep an eye on them." He reminded her.

"Yeah, yeah! Eh?"

Minori looks to her right and stares to the hallway.

"What are you doing?" Ibiki asks.

"It seems like Room 201 is getting kind of noisy, I'll go check things out a bit!"

"Be back as soon as possible!"

"Yeah, whatever!"

Minori waves her right hand to him and walks away. Minutes later, Minori hears footsteps coming near her.

"Eh?"

"Hey, is this the right place?"

"Kankuro, it's just up ahead!"

"You should shut your mouth some time, Kankuro."

"Oh boy..."

Minori sighs a bit and stops walking. The voices she heard belonged to Kankuro, Temari and Gaara.

"Hm? Hey, Minori!" Kankuro smiles.

"Kankuro-san, Temari-san, Gaara-kun, you're all here." Minori smiled.

"Yeah and what are you doing here?" Temari asks.

"I'm just on my way out!" Minori lied.

"Wrong, you're just going to check out what's going on in Room 201." Gaara said.

"CORRECT!! You win a free hug!" Minori raises her hands and runs to Gaara then hugs him, really tight.

"Uhh..."

"Minori, too tight... too tight...!"

"Eh? What did you say? Oh, sorry!" Minori releases Gaara but Gaara grabs her and pulls her to him.

"I thought you wanted to watch over us by not getting spotted?" Gaara whispered.

"But they don't know and besides I'm going to go check out Room 201." Minori whispered back.

Gaara pushes Minori away from him and walks away. Minori sighs and faces Temari and Kankuro.

"Ok, then, I'll see you guys later!" Minori runs off with a smile on her face.

If Gaara-kun, Temari-san and Kankuro-san are here then Sasuke-kun, Naruto-kun and Sakura-chan should be here by now!, thought Minori while running down the hallway.
