After a long day of work I get back home to see the house wasn't burned down, which was a good sign since he's been home in Asgard, meaning he doesn't understand Earth technology.

I sigh as I unlock the door, "I'm home."

"Midgardian, tell me what these devices are." He walks out of the kitchen, "also there was a beeping behind the closed door."

The washer. I turned it on right before I left for work, so I told him what everything was and what they did. Including the washer and how it was suppose to make that noise.

Maybe having another person wouldn't be too bad around the house, it would be nice not having to do as much.

We were in the living room watching tv when he asked a series of question, like where I was born and where my family is, but of course we didn't know anything about the geography of where each other were from.

Knock. Knock.

A knock came from the front door. I looked at my watch, 7:13. I walked to the door.

"Who is it?"

"Sorry to bug you, but my car keeps stalling and I don't know how to fix it. It's up the street, it's Dale by the way," the voice said.

I open the door, "okay was it doing anything funny before?"

He listed a couple things that would help diagnose the car and I grabbed my tools. And headed off, Loki of course following close behind.

It was a simple fix, a piece was loose. Dale drives off and we drive back home to my house.

"How'd you to fix that car?" Loki glances at me.

"My grandpa." I look back at him, he raised an eyebrow, "it was the summer of eighth grade, we just moved to be closer to them, my grandma had esophagus cancer, so we wanted to spend time with her until she died. My siblings spent a lot of time with her and it was my first time meeting grandpa and he was working on his truck. I wanted to help him. And I've been fixing cars ever since."

The rest of the night was quiet, he went to his room I went to mine, thinking about the following day.

Clothes for Loki, talk to Josh, go to Ruth's Shop.

I sigh, roll over and go to bed.

-------------------------

I woke up to a soft knock at the door, I wiped my mouth of the drool, stretched and walked to the door. Loki stood there fully clothed, reminding me of what I had on the agenda for today.

I realized I forgot that my brother's birthday was in two days.

"Shit." I muttered.

"Are you okay, Midgardian?"

"How many times have I told you to not call me midgardian, I have a name. And I'm fine, just need to make a quick stop, care to join?" I asked.

After kicking Loki out of the room I got dressed hopped into the car, it was obviously Loki's first time in a car, excluding the night before. He was looking around with a confused face. I put my seatbelt on and told him to do the same and he copied me. I turned on the radio and put the car in reverse, backing out of the driveway.

We drove into town where the post office is, I turn to see Loki looking out the window eyeing everything we drove by. I then turned into the parking lot, I parked and got out of the car to get the box I forgot to drop off for my brother.

I walk in the building with Loki following close behind as if he were a child. We walk up to the main desk where there was no one.

"Bill? You here?" I ask.

In the back you could hear footsteps, "Ah, hello Olive," the pot bellied man replied, then he looked at Loki, "and who might you be?"

"I am Loki, of Asgard." Loki extended his hand to the man.

Bill shook his have firmly, "How long will we being seeing this Loki of Asgard?"

"He's staying at my place for a while, not sure-"

"Olive has given me her hospitality, so whenever my brother forgives me, for his wrong doing." Loki interrupted me.

"Ah family issues, eh?"

"Very much so." Loki concludes.

"I need this is be sent to Luke, overnight it please. I had a busy day and forgot to do it yesterday."

"You got it, that'll be $91.50."

I sigh and hand him my credit card.

"That's it, you have a nice day." He smiled.

"You too." I smiled grabbing my card. With that we left which lead in a series of questions by Loki, mostly about my brother.

Luke is two years younger than me and the family member that I am closest to, he lives in a village north of Anchorage, Alaska after mom and dad split.  My sister lives in Illinois and sometimes visits me, usually to have me watch her kids so her husband and her can have date night.

Our next stop was getting clothes.

"You know, typically I don't pick my clothes out. My servants do." Loki scoffs.

"Well I'm not your servant, am I? Not to mention to are a grown adult, you are more than capable picking out your own clothes." I stroll into the clothing shop across the street from the post office, once again Loki following like a pouting child. "Hi Janet, how's Brad?"

Janet's petite figure stood up from behind the counter and smiled, "He's doing fine. And yourself?"

"Good."

Janet glances behind me to Loki, "Who are you, darling?"

"This is just a friend of mine," Janet raised an eyebrow at the word friend, "oh no, nothing else. I swear."

She gave me a look then asked Loki what his name was, soon Janet had led him to wear she believed his size was and we had a wardrobe for him. After a little tour down Main Street we get back home right after sunset. Living alone does get quiet, but there was a strange stillness in the air. There was no wind, no animals in the distance. It was too quiet.

Loki looks around and squints, "stay here."

"What? Why," he doesn't answer and closes the door behind him. I wait for a couple of seconds then turn off the car, keeping my keys tight in my hand so they don't make noise. After tiptoeing to the side of the house I hear grunts around the corner, I look around the corner to see a troll like creature overtaking Loki. Quickly I feel around for the shovel I never put up, go around the corner and bash the creature in the back of the head. Instantly collapsing on Loki who grunts a thank you, before I could move the body it turned into ash and the wind took it away.

"Thank you, Olive."

"I have a couple questions."
