A/N: So...this has taken quite a while. I had some trouble putting this chapter together and I'm not really all that satisfied but it'll do, I guess. Thank you for sticking with me for all this time. And please, please, please COMMENT and VOTE. I am going to make it my mission to respond to EVERY comment posted on this chapter.

I felt content.
Never in my life had things felt so right. So...together. It was pristine, it was pure, it was...too good.
I wasn't even focusing on the movie. Chase was however, while one hand ran through my hair, toying with it absentmindedly. He had no idea but I'd never been treated with such tenderness. It was weird but...enjoyable. Was this the sort of thing most mates were able to experience? "You're so tense."
"Hm?" I looked up at Chase and forced a smile. "Sorry."
"Don't be. You're nervous. It's absolutely fine."
I bit my lip. "I'm distracting you. Watch your movie. I shouldn't disturb you--that's not my job."
"Your job?" he echoed, shifting to look at me. "You don't have a job. You're my mate. It's my job to make you happy. That's the only 'job' we have to worry about."
I looked down, ultimately ashamed. "I'm sorry."
"Hush," he murmured. "You should never be sorry."
He lowered his face to mine, kissing me hard. I smiled a bit, allowing his tongue to slip inside my mouth. "Are you thirsty? I can make you some coffee or...or a drink?"
"I'm not much a drinker," replied Chase. "I won't turn down the occasional beer but I don't get drunk. At least, not often."
I was a bit relieved to hear that but I didn't say anything. "What's going on?" he asked quietly. "Talk to me."
"Nothing, er...I'm just... Waiting, I guess."
"Oh." Chase rubbed my shoulder tenderly. "When he gets here, I'll send you upstairs--you don't need to see this."
"I... It's nothing," I mumbled. "Don't change your plans because of me. It's...stupid."
"No its not. If you're not comfortable--"
"I'm fine."
We sat in silence for a while. A knock on the door spooked me and I jumped up instantly, looking around. "Relax honey." he whispered. "Austin won't be knocking."
He sat up, getting to his feet. "Just sit tight. I'll be back in a minute."
I couldn't help but sit up and glance around as he pulled open the front door. "Alpha," greeted Chase, making me both anxious and relieved at once. Once again I was around the freaking Alpha. I wasn't so sure how to act. I mean, he had already assumed I was so pathetic I'd failed as a mate for Austin. Why would he even let me be with him? "Come on in. Do you need something?"
How could he speak so casually to the alpha? I sighed out quietly. "Thought I'd sit in to ensure Austin is on his best behavior. He should be heading home around now--the deltas have just left the temporary base. He should be storming over here in about ten minutes."
I sat up quickly as the alpha walked in. Axel didn't look the same as he used to. He was still the same guy from before Colton...just a bit more mature. He didn't have the boyish charms he used to throw around. But now he much more...grown up. And far more intimidating. "Hello Dawson. I want you to know that this will go smoothly. I'm personally making sure of it."
