Cas' P.O.V

Finally lunchtime. My stomach growled as I walked into the crowded lunchroom. I searched the sea of people till I found my friends table. I strode over to them and sat down next to my best friends, Jet and Jax.

"Hey how was it this morning?" She asked.

"Well my books were taken from me and thrown across the hallway, then I almost got a detention in Math, then in Chem I got cold water dumped in my lap and all over my chest. Other then that great. He left me alone in English." I replied shrugging

"I still can't believe you won't let us kick his ass." Jet said from across the table.

"I'm telling you guys he's not worth the time. He's a loser." I said trying to look busy digging through my bag.

"Yeah a loser that keeps physically abusing you." Jax said angrily.

I stood up, noticing the line for food had dispersed, and used that as an excuse to leave the conversation "I'm fine guys. Really." I said and walked away.

"That's bullshit and you know it!" Jet called after me.

I rolled my eyes and walked into the "Cafe'" part of the lunch room. I grabbed my plate and began to pile it with things I wanted. Fruit, the nasty milk we get, greasy pizza, and salad. Yum. I walked to the register and checked out then headed to my table. I was about halfway there when someone stopped in front of me. I looked up at the person, meeting their blue eyes immediately. Luke.

"Whatcha got there?" He asked sarcastically

"Can you move please? I just wanna eat." I mumbled.

"How ab-" He began, but Jet cut him off.

"I highly suggest you and your little monkeys get lost before we have a problem. I guarantee you that I will not hesitate to beat the shit out of you." She stood next to me and smiled at him sweetly.

Luke looked at me and then at Jet. "You got luck-" He started, but she get cut him off again.

"I'm sorry, are you deaf?" She said and looked at him with her death glare.

He looked at me then walked away, back to his table. "That's what I thought." She called after him.

We walked over to the table and sat down. I didn't say a word about what just happened and none of them asked. That wasn't the first time any of them have had to stand up for me against Luke. I hated being so powerless. I knew I wasn't strong enough or had the confidence to stand up for myself. I ate my lunch quietly as my friends around me gossiped and talked about others. When the bell rang I stood up, threw my plate away, and left for my next class.

I climbed the stairwell, holding onto the railing as I went. I strode down the hall and into my History class. I didn't have Luke in this class, but Ashton was in here. I sat down at my usual seat and watched everyone pour in. Ashton looked straight at me as soon as he entered the class. I shifted in my seat uncomfortably as he made his way to his seat, except he didn't stop and sit. He walked towards me and sat down in the seat next to mine. I glanced over at him as he got his things out. The bell rang and class had begun. The teacher put the review on the board and we all started to get to work.

"Hey Cas." Ashton said loud enough for only me to hear.

My heart began to race and I looked over at him. "Hi Ashton."

"Are you okay?" He asked, looking straight into my eyes.

"Uh-uhm yeah of course. Why do you ask?" I said stunned.

"I don't agree with what Luke does to you, but if I say anything he'll get upset with me and I just don't need his bitchy attitude right now." He said with a light chuckle.

I nodded and laughed a little. "Oh well, why wait till now to ask me?"

"I didn't really think it would get this bad and I thought he would stop by now, but the water thing this morning was too far for me. I'm sorry." He said sympathetically.

I bit my lip a little. "Well, thank you for checking up on me." He nodded and smiled then got back too work.

I went back to focusing on my History review and thought about all the things that Luke put me through throughout my high school life. It wasn't so bad sophomore to junior year, just light teasing. Other than the teasing he ignored me completely. This year, however. That was a different story. Luke apparently became an even bigger ass over the summer and decided to go all out for senior year. Yay, lucky me.

Every time I looked into those bright blue eyes I thought I saw a slight flash of pity for me, but it went away when he slapped my books out of my hand or dumped water all over me. I never understood why he didn't like me. He never really said. I never really got a chance to ask either. Maybe it was because I didn't fall over him like all the other girls. I don't know nor do I really care.

The bell rang letting us know 4th hour was done. I stuffed everything into my bag and walked out. Now onto Art class. Luke was in my 5th hour, so this was gonna be fun. I walked outside and crossed the courtyard. I hauled open the heavy door and walked into the Art building. I took my seat at my table. Everyone came into the class and sat down. Once the bell rang one of the popular girls stood up and passed out slips of paper to everyone. Once she was finished she smiled at us all. "Hope to see y'all there!" She said cheerfully.

I looked down at the slip of paper in my hand. It was an invite to a bonfire tonight. I sighed a little and felt a tap on my shoulder. I looked up to see Jet and Jax smiling down at me. "You're going you know that right?" Jet said. Jax nodded along.

"Guys I don't know. I mean Luke's gonna be there." I said motioning to him and his monkeys, who were showing each other their invites and talking.

"So what? We'll be there so he is not gonna mess with you. I promise." Jet said shrugging.

"Besides you could use a night of getting wasted and staring at the stars. You need to let look." Jax said and winked.

"Alright. Alright fine." I said rolling my eyes. They cheered and then went back to their seats. I was NOT looking forward to this.
