Chapter 10: It's Midnight!

Caleb's POV:
"What do I do Henry?!" I ask. "Don't worry. She should wake in three, two, one-" and the bell rings for last period to start. Ariana wakes up asking, "What happened?" "You touched the jem in your hand, now you have superpowers. Class is about to start." I write my number on the side of a piece of paper, rip it off, and give it to her.

"Just call me if anything ... out of the ordinary happens, Ok?" I ask. "Ok, I will."

"Ok class, today we're going to start Slope." Says Mrs. Andel.

I arrive home, and my family is watching TV. "Welcome back home Caleb." And Mom walks over to give me a hug. She goes back to her chair and asks, "So, how was talking to Ariana? I here you have a crush on her." Mom says.

"MOM!" I yell.

"Ok, I was just teasing. But seriously, did you give her the jem?" "Yeah I did. I also gave her my number-" "Awww, you gave her your number." Mom says.

"MOM!" "What?" She asks. Leyla and Dad are laughing their faces off.

It's midnight, and my phone is going off. WHO CALLS AT MIDNIGHT?! I grab my phone and ask, "Hello?" "Hey it's me, Ariana. You know how you said to call you if something out of the ordinary happens? Well something did." She says.

"Ok, just come to" my address, " immediately." "I will, bye Caleb." "Bye."

And I walk down stairs, and walk out the front door. I walk to the sidewalk, so I can see her coming. It took her about ten minutes to come to my house. I see that rocks are spinning around her, her hair is brown, not black like it normally is, and her skin looks ... rocky.

"Did you bring the jem?" I ask. "Yeah, where's yours?" Ariana asks. I pull my jem out of my pocket. "I think so, follow me." I direct her to our backyard. "What are we doing in your backyard?" "Just watch." I walk over to the tree, I pull the lowest branch. CLICK! The tree expands and DINGS! open. She looks at me like I'm crazy, again. I walk in, and motion my hands to follow. She walks towards me, scared. When she walks in, I press the button for the Main Floor.

When the doors open, I look to see Ariana's mouth wide open. I grab her hand and pull her around the hideout. When I'm done showing, I call out, "Ok, introduce yourself Henry." "Who's Henry?" Ariana asks, looking around.

"I am, the supercomputer Caleb just showed you." And his screen starts showing all sorts of things. "I help Caleb about info, the jems, and whenever he needs knowledge of his powers, he asks me. And yoouuu, are about to get my help right now." He shows a bajiollon weapons on the main screen.

"Pick your new superhero weapon to control your powers Ariana." Henry says excitedly. Ariana scrolls down the giant list, until she finds the one. "I want a gun!" She says out loud.

"One gun, coming up!" Behind the weapons box (which we don't need anymore) you can hear gears turning and pumps moving and hammers mashing. Suddenly, the box expands larger. Me and Ariana walk over; she opens the box. We see, in the newly expanded area, is her gun.

It looks like a pistol, made of metal. She grabs it and points at me. "Scary huh."

"Yeah, scary. Put your jem into the side of it." I say. She turns it over to the side where the hole is. She grabs her jem from her pocket, and places it in there. Suddenly her eyes glow fiercely. The gun changes to rock and dirt. Then her eyes go down to normal.

"Woah. That was weird" she says. "Press your jem. You'll look cooler." I say. She glares at me. "I'm not saying your not cool or anything. I said you'll look COOLER." She rolls her eyes and presses her jem.

She FLASHES! into her new outfit.
She has a dirt mask, dirt gloves, rock shoes, her suit has a picture of an earthquake on it, and a skirt with constant dirt flowing off it.

"I do look cooler!" She says. "I told you."
