If Only

Mal's POV 

It's been about 3 weeks since I had my miscarriage. And I can honestly say I've been depressed. I haven't barely left my bed other than having to open the door every time Evie forgets her keys. Everything has just been miserable. And worst of all is that all I could think about was how Ben was doing, but he wouldn't know that because he hasn't come to see me since we found out. I've been so stressed about having to go back to school next week that I haven't even talked to Fairy Godmother about anything regarding my classes and about taking summer school. 

As I was flipping through the channels of the tv I came across the news station. I'd been avoiding it on purpose cause I knew they would be talking about the Isle and of course Ben and I. But this time I stayed on it just cause I got curious. It was talking about me and Ben and our mysterious hospital visit. They were trying to interview our friends about it and it just got annoying . After they keep harassing our friends I shut it off. I couldn't even think about how all of this blew up so quickly. Even after 3 weeks this was still the cover story. I couldn't believe it. 

I had finally gone back to school but that was all that I was doing. Trying to catch up would have been harder if I brought all my drama into it so I didn't even bother with it.  Unfortunately no matter how focused I was now I would still have to attend summer school for my English and Business classes. I was currently finishing up some work for classes in the library. Everyone was staring at me and whispering to other people while they looked at me. I know they were talking about me and Ben but I didn't care I needed to get this stuff done so I just ignored them. As I was finishing up on my last page of questions for Chemistry Jay and Carlos came and sat with me. They dropped their books on the table and sighed as they sat down. I glanced up and noticed them. Jay started talking saying "I can't believe I'm failing Math how in the world am I going to do good on the final if I don't get any of it, my preseason tourney workouts must have been getting in the way more than I thought." Carlos responded with "That sucks man I could get Jane to help you but we're already trying to cram for our Histories of Auradon exam this Friday." I finally finished my questions and was about to get up when Jay said "Wait, Mal how have you been lately we barely ever see you since you were in the hospital." I nodded my head and tried to hold back the tears as I said "I'm fine just trying to make it through the last week of school and all, good to see you guys bye." As I got up and turned away from them before they could talk to me some more I knocked right into someone dropping all my books and papers. I quickly said "I'm sorry I didn't even see you there." We both were picking up my stuff and for a moment we both looked up at the same time. You guessed it the person before me was Ben. I took a big gulp and finally said "Hey stranger."

*finally updated. took me awhile to tell how I wanted this story to go that's why it took so long. Hope everyone likes the direction I'm going in.
