District Court

Courtroom No. 1 ~ Lily Shield's POV

A young man soon approached the witness stand, looking a little grouchy with his hands in his pockets. The first thing I noticed was his orange-brown hair; it was - how should I describe it? - a mix between a pompadour and a punch perm. That sounds good. His attire conisted of a white tank top with black trousers and shoes. He looked kind of intimidating, actually.

"State your name and occupation, witness." Robbie demanded.

"Mondo Owada. Nice to freakin' meet ya." Mr. Owada replied. "Right now, I'm serving time in prison."

"Oh my! Just what did you do?!" My Lord asked. Mr. Owada didn't respond; his purple irises darted to the ground. Maybe he didn't want to talk about it.

"Anyway, Mr. Owada, can you please tell us your account of what happened on the day of the murder?" Prosecutor Wood requested.

Mr. Owada shrugged. "Sure, whatever..."

- Witness Testimony -

- Time of the Crime -

"So I'd heard some kinda murder happened. The whole building was in an uproar."

"I was, y'know, kinda hoping to sneak away and find out what happened, but..."

"... that's when I saw the body. Like, right there in the corridor."

"It was pretty freaky. Didn't expect to see it so suddenly."

"You saw the body?!" I repeated. "Why didn't you say something sooner...?!"

"That's why I'm here now, ain't it?!" Mr. Owada yelled, making me shriek slightly. Chrysalis had ducked under the desk.

"... Oops. Sorry." Mr. Owada looked away sheepishly. "I tend to raise my voice when I'm nervous..."

(You don't say...?)

"A-Anyway, I'd like to cross-examine the witness, My Lord." I announced, dragging Chrysalis out from behind the desk. She pouted at me, but quickly focused back on the case ahead.

"Then the defense may cross-examine Mr. Owada!" Prosecutor Wood cried. Mr. Owada glanced in her direction, slightly fearful. There was no way he could be scared of her... right?

- Cross Examination -

"So I'd heard that some kinda murder happened. The whole building was in an uproar."

"I was, y'know, kinda hoping to sneak away and find out what happened, but..."

"... that's when I saw the body. Like, right there in the corridor."

*OBJECTION!*

"But that doesn't make any sense." I said, a slight frown on my face. "The body wasn't found in any kind of corridor."

"Eh? What are ya talkin' about?" Mr. Owada asked, clearly confused. "I saw her!"

"The body was found in an interrogation room." I told the court. "So just what did the witness see...?"
