2 weeks.
It's been 2 weeks since Harry died.
No one was close to being okay.
It isn't fair for a boy of 21 to die so young.
Louis stood outside the door of the cafe, unsure if he should go inside. He took a shaky breath and walked inside. The place was almost empty, only three people were in today.
He forced a smile onto his face when he saw his old friend. "Hey, Lo." He said.
Lauren looked up from the magazine she had in her hands and gasped. She jumped off the stool behind the counter and went up to him. She wrapped her arms around him tightly. "Louis.." She said surprised, and somewhat relieved.
Louis sighed deeply and hugged her back. They pulled away and the girl looked at him closely. "Louis, I- how are you?"
He shrugged. Lauren never called him by his first name. They were too casual with each other, the closest she ever came to saying "Louis" was if she said "Lou." If she was calling him by his first name, you knew it was serious times.
"I've been better." He mumbled.
She looked at him sadly and pulled him into the back room. "God, Louis." She hissed. "You look like shit."
And he really did. He had terrible bags under his eyes, his tan skin was turning paler with each day. He was about to say something when he heard something break from behind him, a yelp following.
"Shit!" The girl cursed.
He turned to look at Camila gathering up the broken pieces of glass on the floor. Lauren sighed and went to go help her. Camila stood up and placed her hands to her temple. "I-I'm sorry, I don't- ugh. I'm sorry Lo I've been really jumpy lately." She mumbled while glancing up at Louis. There was something in her eyes, something Louis couldn't quite figure out. Guilt maybe?
"What's going on back here?" A high voice said. The brown haired girl peered into the large room and frowned when she saw the glass on the floor. She looked to Camila sadly. "Aw, Mila." She mumbled. She smiled reassuringly at her. "I already told you, if you need a few days off you can have them. You can go home right now if you want, we can manage on our own for a while right, Lauren?"
Lauren smiled and nodded as she got up from the floor. "Jade's right, Camz. You could do with a little break." She said.
Camila chewed the inside of her cheek. She looked down sheepishly. "Yeah, um, I guess you guys are right." She sighed and took off her blue apron. She handed it to Jade and smiled. "You could have Pez around a lot more now too." She smirked and Jade rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever, Cabello. Speaking of Pez, do you need a ride home? I could call her, she's going your way at this time I think."
Camila shook her head. "No, don't worry it's alright." She said truthfully.
Lauren gave her a tight hug. "Be careful, Camz." She whispered and pecked her cheek. Camila flushed and nodded. She gave a quick hug to Jade and was heading out.
"What, don't I get a goodbye?" Louis called to her. She froze and bit her lip. She turned around and plastered a smile, avoiding eye contact. She gave him a quick and awkward hug. "See you later, Lou." She said quietly and left.
Louis looked at Lauren confused. "What did I do?" He asked.
Jade sighed and leaned against the wall. "She's been really distant recently, don't take it personal, Boo."
Lauren nodded. "And also, I guess you remind her of him a lot."
Louis looked down to the floor. "You can say his name y'know. It's not like I'm some fragile thing that'll break at the sound of his name." He mumbled.
