Star yawned as she dragged herself out of bed, monotonously doing her daily routine of preparing to go to school. It was near impossible to keep her promise to never have a dull day this month as examinations had everyone in school stressed out and studying really hard.

Marco was the best example as he had recently locked himself in his room everyday studying to maintain his grade of A+ with a smiley face :). To make things worse for Star, Marco kept bugging her to study with him as he knew Star wouldn't do it otherwise and would fail another major examination.

Sighing at that thought, Star assumed today was going to be like every other ordinary day until Marco burst into Star's room energetically holding a calendar.

"Hey Star! Examinations are finally ending today, and in exactly one week there is a prom!" Marco pointed at the date on the calendar.

"Woah! Examinations are ending today?! Wow I must have lost track of time after the countless studying you made me do. Speaking of which there won't be any today right?"

"Nope"

"Yess! Finally!" Star jumped for joy when she heard Marco's reply."By the way, what's a prom?"

"Oh. A prom is a dance held in our school at the end of the year, speaking of which" Marco paused with his cheeks turning slightly red "Do you happen to have anyone to dance with?"

Star replied "No silly, I didn't even know what a prom was like 10 seconds ago!"

"Yeah, me neither" Marco anxiously said. When he realised his mistake, Marco smiled and slowly left after the awkward silence. Leaving Star alone in her room again. "A prom", she add with a sigh, " who do i want to dance with?... maybe this is my chance to dance with Marco!" Star covered her mouth and checked to see if Marco had actually left.

Ever Since the Blood Moon Ball dance, Star saw Marco differently. She thought of Marco more than a friend, like a... she couldn't put her finger on it, like she wanted to see Marco more often. Star immediately stopped her train of thoughts.

"Sigh. Too bad Marco won't think of me the same."

"Star! Come down and have your breakfast now! It's been 20 seconds since I left it on the table and it's getting cold. It's probably going to be frozen if you don't come now!" Mrs Diaz exclaimed.

"Alright, coming!" Star replied as she made her way down the concrete stairs.

Star headed to the dining room expecting to see the usual bacon, eggs and bread instead she was greeted with stacks and stacks of brown circles! Mrs Diaz noticing Star's reaction, explained "Since today is the last day of your examinations and to celebrate, I made pancakes for you to eat."

"Cool! These are pancakes!"

Star sat down and took a plate of them. After carefully observing them for a while, she shrugged and took a bite. When Star took the bite, she was blown away by the taste of it. Before she knew it, she began to wolf down plate after plate of pancakes.

The Diazs were staring at Star awkwardly as she gobbled her food heartily. Pieces of pancakes were falling onto the table as Star's mouth wasn't able to handle the amount of incoming food.

"Good luck cleaning this mess up dear" Mrs Diaz whispered to Mr Diaz.

After a while, Mrs Diaz broke the silence by saying "Star! The pancakes were Marco's idea, he knew you would love it! Oh, did you do what you planned Marco?" Star saw Marco did a hand signal and Mrs Diaz nodded but Star just ignored what happened and carried on eating.

"How can you be so pathetic Marco?" Marco thought to himself "Yesterday, you said today. Today you still didn't ask Star to be your dance partner. Come on, it's just a dance, what are you so afraid of?" Marco sighed and wanted to kick himself for being so shy.
