Chapter one: Moving away

The clouds in the blue sky seemed like an array of white puffs scattered chaotically floating about. The day was bright in a literal way but for me it was one of the most gloomy days ever.

"Why do I even have to do this Mom?", I whined.

"You brought grave danger to all of us honey. Had it not been for him we would have been divulged by now!", Mom scoffed as she helped me pack my clothes.

"I understand, and I promise never to repeat. But is this really necessary?" I asked again.

"Sure is." replied someone else. As I glanced towards the door I saw my father leaning on the door frame.

"Arghh!!!",I rolled my eyes.

"See Thalia", dad said as he entered the room, "This moving away thing is not for my good, in fact, it's for your safety. So go along with the decision and stop whinging now , will you?"

Like I even got a choice.

"The packing is over honey. Are you done with the other bags?", mom asked rather softly. Since the news of me moving away Mom has been amazingly soft with it. Truth be told, it feels really weird. Mom has never been a softie, she's more of a bike-rider-typish person. Well who knew my moving away would do work such wonders.

"Almost."

The idea of moving away from this place is inconceivable yet it is nearing as the reality with every passing second. A new country, city, school and above all, new people. Being in a place with all strangers around is totally unlikely to even think of. Being given the fact that my communication skills are downright pathetic makes it even more rugged.

Gosh, I am so doomed. It could have been any other states but Isle of Wight? These people are such sadists! I hope that the one who suggest this gets burned to crisps in the Inferno and not even reach the Purgatory! Let the Paradise be.

"What time is your fight in?", my younger brother Jayden asked stepping in from the door frame.

"Seven, got to be at the airport in an hour.", I muttered.

"So your really moving away? I mean, I wanted you to move out bad but now it feels unreal.", he said in disbelief.

"Yeah, real happy, aren't you? No one's gonna hide your mobile from now on , no one will show your tests papers or complain about how you didn't take your lunch. Wow, you could actually consider writing a book upon 'Freedom from the rigorous and vicious reign of Thalia.'"

"Oh, come on! It's not as bad as you think. I might even miss you, you know."

A for a second my heart actually melted until,

"Like, cutting the side of my bread, playing video games with me when Landon and Ty aren't there, signing my report card and stuffs"

"Shut up you meanie. Only remember me when you need your dirty jobs to be done!" , I whined as I threw all the little things within my reach at him.

"Mom!" , he shouted while ducking himself from the cell chargers and pens I was throwing at him.

"Enough now Thalia and Jayden, only half an hour remaining. Start zipping up now."

The orange blaze of the setting sun illuminated the street in its own radiant way. Dusk being considered as the most beautiful time of the day was seeming crystalline to me now. There is a different beauty reflected of each place by the glare of the dusk. It's undoubtedly ravishing but there is more to it... Something inexplicable actually, and at the moment even the incomprehensible made a crystalline sense to me.

Getting out from my jumbled up thoughts, I faced the street. "How far is it now?", I asked Dad, who was driving the car.

"Just 5 minutes and we're there already!", he said with a serene expression. His tranquillity is also the other thing which is incomprehensible.

I turned back to see my mom and Jayden, who was cosily reading a book and playing on his PS.

"So you all are really unfazed by this, aren't you?", I spoke out loud to everyone but all I received was baffled, bewildered and stupefied faces. "Nevermind" , I muttered and popped in earphones listening to the heavenly sound of John Lennon.

After some time of driving we finally reached the airport. We unloaded my bags from the trunk and proceeded further.

Attending all other regularities we finally reached the departure lounge.

Now, I want so sure how to feel. This moving away thing to me was a gargantuan truck that hit me. But as I'm pacing forward it's becoming the real reality. I'm just teetering and tottering between this and what is to come.

"Well, this is it then." I spoke. "It's not the end of life",replied Dad.

Sure not.

"Okay Thalia call us as you reach there, all the necessary arrangements have been made for you. You will be continuing your regular practice and I'll make sure to make sure that you really practice. Wight is a good place honey and so is your new school. I require you to be in your best behaviour and don't scar your record! Am I clear?" Mom repeated in her monotonous tone.

And as the request so the reply, "Yes Mom."

"Don't forget your purpose Thalia. Know why you're there in Wight and know what you'll be in future and act in accordance you'll be safe."

Safe? Me? Ha. Taking Polar bear to Al-aziaziyah ?

"Time to go, come on now." Dad said

Let's go to isolated eden-not-so-eden-y Isle of Wight.
