I don't remember exactly how me and Gillian managed to fall asleep after that horrible experience, but we did. I stayed over at her house for the night.

I woke up in the morning feeling extremely refreshed. I walked into her spacious bathroom and cleaned up a bit.

I heard a couple groans and shuffling and soon found my best friend next to me, staring at the mirror. "Good morning, beautiful." I said sarcastically. She slapped my shoulder.

Gillian never looked good in the morning. Her locks covered her face all tousled. Her eyes droopy and dark. "I need my coffee!" She protested.

We both left the bathroom and got dressed. I grabbed my flowered skirt and matched it with my blue flowing top. She wore black jeans, a crop top, and combat boots. We both matched our outfits with some jewelry.

"So do you think that they found the guy yet?" G asked closing her locker. Surprisingly we had lockers right next to each other :) .

"I doubt it, I mean they traced the call we got from him and it went all the way back to Norway" I replied.

I grabbed my books for first period and starting walking to class with her, we both stayed silent.

"I just wish that there were no bad people in the world, ya know?" She said. I nodded my head in agreement.

We shuffled into the classroom and sat down at our desks. When I got there, I noticed a note. It read, "Joanna Catherine Smith" in all fancy lettering.

I flipped it over and it said, "Meet me behind the south Starbucks tonight at 8 o'clock for a little surprise." I turned behind me to face Gillian.

"Did you get one of these?" I whispered to her. She shook her head.

"Joanna," I heard the teachers voice behind me, "please turn around."

The bell rang and everyone jolted up from their desks. I got up and walked out the door with G.

"Hey, what was that letter all about?" She asked.

"It just said something about coming to Starbucks for a surprise tonight." I replied.

"Did it have any name?"

"Nope, just my full name. So it would have to be someone I know right? I bet it's just Ben."

"Speak of the Devil" she said.

I looked and saw Ben walking down the hall towards us. Ben was our third 'group member'. He had brown hair and misty blue/grey eyes. He was constantly trying to be funny, good thing that I laughed at everything he said.

I admit, he was very attractive. However, since he has always been my friend I don't think of him like that. We could never be more than friends.

"Hey, what's going on my chicas?" He said.

"Well, Jo is going to follow this creepy note that she found. So... That means that I have to go too" Gillian explained.

"Well, I ain't staying home either!" Ben exclaimed.

"Okay, so why are we waiting in an alleyway behind a coffee shop without coffee?" G protested.

"True, I vote Ben gets it!" I said.

He groaned, "why is it always me?" He walked back into the coffee shop reaching for his wallet.

---Ben's POV---

I walked in the shop as the smell of espresso overwhelmed me. I waited patiently in line. As I got to the front I looked up at the menu.

"One Carmel macchiato (for Joanna) and two java chip fraps (for me and Gillian). I paid and walked out of the shop.

I checked my phone, 8:12. I walked back into the alleyway and tried to find the girls. I looked in the pitch dark and couldn't find them anywhere.

What happened?
