We had hopped onto a train to head back to England. We knew it was risky but it was the only way to we can figure out the truth on what was going on. Dylan had figure out that maybe Child Services had records on who my parents were so we got on the next train we could.
With the train aching closer to London, I felt sick in my stomach as maybe something might happen as soon as we set foot on the platform. I watched outside the window as we came to the great city. My hand squeezed Ed to warn him that I was feeling uneasy on what we were doing.
He lifted my hand and kissed my wrist to reassure that everything will be right because he was going to be next to me. Dylan sat across the from us, sleeping with a snore popping up from time to time. I smiled because that was familiar to me, unlike the boy sitting next to me and the actions that have recently taken place with the big scary men.
The train suddenly pulled into the station and slowed down, letting the eager people to step off board. I was hesitant to rise but Ed looked at me.
"Everything is going to be fine, trust me," he stated and I nodded, hoping he would be right. I kicked, gently, Dylan awake and we rose from our seat to exit the transport car.
Ed's hand slipped into mine as he we walked side by side with Dylan walking ahead of us. We wore sunglasses with Ed wearing some ridiculous hat to hide his famous red hair. Walking in a crowd, we got any chance we could to hide ourselves until we hauled a cab.
It was getting darker and we knew that there was a limited time to get in, find my real birth certificate and get out and we had no plan whatsoever. We had discussed it on the train but no back up.
We came to the Child Services building on the outskirts of London and my legs were literally shaking as we hopped out of the cab and walked into the slightly crowded lobby. Walking up to the front desk, not sure what job the person had infront of me but I was taking a chance.
"Hello, may I help you?" the blonde at the front desk, with a head set, asked me in a monotone voice liked she didn't want to be there.
"Yeah, um, I would like to look at my birth certificate?"
"Oh, ask him over there." She pointed to a man in a blue suit holding a clipboard over by a door that read on a plack Important Files.
"Thank you," Dylan told her as I turned and walked over to the man, taking my sunglasses off and placing them on my head.
We approached the man and I tapped him on the shoulder and he looked up at me. He was chubby man with a double chin and a mustache like he was French and ate one too many croissants.
"May I help you?" He asked, his brown eyes like a scary dolls.
"Hi, I would like to see my birth certificate," I told him.
"Sure, what is your name?" he asked as we followed him toward the door where he placed his hand on the door knob.
"Annie, Annie Granger."
He stopped and looked up at me with wide-eyes and took his hands off the door knob and stood gaurding the door.
"I am sorry, but I cannot help you miss. I will ascort you out and hope you have a nice day." He placed a hand on my back as he guided us towards the front door and before we walked out, walking away from us.
I stomped my foot in frustration and looked at the other two who looked at me.
"Well that failed, what do we do now?" Ed asked, I shrugged crossing my arms over my chest.
Dylan stood thinking and tapping her foot. Her eye wander around and finally looked up at Ed with his sunglasses and hat making a smile cross her face. In a swift movement, she ripped off his disguise.
"OH MY GOSH! THAT IS ED SHEERAN!" Dylan said a little too loudly for a group of people to hear and teenagers passing outside to hear.
Within a few seconds, a group of people crowded Ed and started to scream at him, pushing Dylan and I away from him. A few others got a little too handsy and thats when others stepped in to stop this madness, like the old chubby French looking guy stepping away from the door.
We slowly backed away towards the secret door, casually. Dylan opened it and I could feel my heart pounding as soon as I step in there I will figure out who my real parents are. I caught Ed's eye, who looked like he did not like this idea one bit and I shot him an apologetic look. I stood at the door to keep an eye on him and the chubby French looking guy.
Dylan ran inside the forbidden room and looked through each one of the filing cabinets very quickly.
"What hospital were you born at again?" she asked me, as I was keeping track on our little red head friend. I took a sneak peek at her, a paper in her hand.
"Hosiptal of London..."
"Uh, Annie, I think I found your birth certificate." Her voice was short and breathy like she found a ghost.
I took a short peek at everyone in the hallway, someone was calling for security and we had to get out of there fast. I quickly ran over to where she was, squatting by an open cabinet. Looking at the same thing on the other birth certificate that was fake, me with my name, the hospital but the names were different. The names were familiar.
"Oh my God," were the only things that I could say.
First comment gets a dedication and any guess on who Annie's parents are get a dedication for the last part.
