I want to know what you guys think who are Annie's parents and what happened to them! Dedicated to Lyrieac since she was first to comment!
I had hauled a cab once I had gotten about a mile or so from the house. Supringly there were cabs driving up and down the streets of this rural town. Stepping into the cab, my phone vibrated and for some reason I knew who it was.
"What do you want," I said, I know I sounded rude but I was a bit annoyed with him.
"Please come back, you don't even know what might happen," I heard Ed voice say. "What if those guys from the pub find you."
"Ed, I'm capable for taking care of myself. I pretty much kept myself a live 3 years ago when I lived on the streets."
"But from what I heard, you almost didn't make it."
There was silence between us then I spoke, "Why do you even care so much about me? We barely even know each other."
And then I knew that I had gone too far, I ended the call and watched as the country side passed by as the cab went towards London. I knew it was risky, but I was taking a chance. It was the only train station in miles and I needed to get out of England right away. I didn't feel like wanting to hear about Ed everywhere I go, even though Dylan will probably be asking what happened between us as she picks me up from the station in Paris and sees that my cheeks are red and my eyes scratchy.
I love Dylan but she can be a little agressive, hearing that she got pissed at Ed for being surronded by screaming fans was a little over the top, but also that there are people watching my every move trying to keep me safe from people I don't even know. Who ever my parents are, they are already a pain in my arse. Have some enemies that are also going after me sounds like some lifetime spy movie that I want nothing to do with.
Who were my parents any way? Were they spys? Were they up on the social ladder? Were they big in politics? Were they part of the royal family? Has my father ever been the president in the states? Are they one of the most wanted criminals in the world?
Whatever they were or did, it must've been something important. If only I knew what and why there were people after me.
I could spot the tall buildings of London creeping closer as the car spend towards the city. I took a deep breath thinking of how much I had gone from living on the streets of London to being taken in and finding my parents. I was finally going to Paris for the first time in my life and I was excited, yet feeling quite unsure. Should I even go to Paris and risk everything, I completely hurt Ed leaving him behind and being such a... I don't even know to him.
The cab stopped right outside the train station, I handed the driver the money, grabbed my duffel bag and hopped out of the car. I walked right into the station and headed over to the ticket booth since my dramatic exit wouldn't be as much as dramatic if I had gotten a ticket before hand.
Taking out my cell phone, I dialed Dylan's number. After a few rings it went to voicemail and I fought with myself if I should so as the beep came I spoke.
"Hey, Dyl, its me, Annie if you didn't already know that. A little change of plans, I'm getting on the train sooner than later and I will see you tonight. Bye."
I hung up and tapped my phone, bored as I waited in the ticket line, which I have been in for the last 5 minutes and it still hasn't moved yet. I was surprised how crowded it was because there was no family holiday coming up except for Halloween next week. I heard my phone go off and Dylan came immediately to my mind.
"Hey Dylan," I greeted the person on the end, but then I knew it wasn't her.
"Hello Annie," A deep man's voice greeted
"Who are you?" I asked.
"Someone who knows about your birth parents. Meet me under the Eiffel Tower, tonight at 8." And before I could say anything, the man hung up.
6 Hours Later
For the whole train ride I had been wondering who that person was that called me. But I didn't bother thinking more because I spotted Dylan standing by a very tall clock in the center. When she saw me, she smiled and I walked over to her and was pulled into a hug.
"I'm so sorry for what I did the other day," she muttered.
"Its okay, you aren't the only one who hurt my feelings," I told her, retreating from her hug.
"What happened?" she asked.
"Its Ed, he lied to me." I told her everything as soon as we got back to the hotel she stayed in with her mother, Clemence, which surprisgly close to the Eiffel Tower.
Clemence was out to tea with a business partner of hers which left Dylan and I alone in the room. And boy was Dylan mad. It looked like if Ed was here, she would literally rip his throat out. And yet again, I tried to tell her that it no big of a deal, but I thought it was. I was just lying to myself. I had kissed Ed, I had started to have feelings for Ed and he just lies to me that he can help me. But guess not.
I sat in the living room, hearing Dylan yell through the phone at Ed, who had called once I had gotten to the hotel. She was telling him that it wasn't nice to lead someone then going to disappear for a few months. I looked at the clock which had 7:30 plastered across the screen. Sighing, I got to my feet, grabbed my purse and exited the room.
I now was heading towards the Eiffel Tower to meet who ever this person was and what he knew about my parents. Standing under the most beautiful structure in my life, I watch people pass by, and I wondered if they knew anything who my parents were.
I waited until 8:15 when I decided it was time to go back to the hotel, but froze when there was a tap on my shoulder. I turned and saw a men with sunglasses on and dark suit cover my mouth with a towel which had a druggie smell to it, making me woozy and then everything had gone black.
