I struggled to get to headquarters, thinking that that might be where bertholdt was headed as well.
I realized that I used up all the gas in my 3DMG getting outside of the wall to get close to the colossal Titan so getting to headquarters I knew wasn't gunna be easy.
I was walking down and abandoned street with no sign of life or Titans then.. A hand shot out from an ally way covering my mouth. I didn't struggle just froze up letting whoever it was take me few steps into the ally.
"Y/n don't freak out, it's me."
I knew that voice, it was all too familiar.. It was Bertholdt.
He uncovered my mouth and I turned towards him, tears building in my eyes. I basically pushed myself into him, hugging him and making his shirt wet with tears. I was worried about him and I had so much to ask.
"Shh," he said patting my head and brushing my hair with his fingers, "you'll be alright."
I backed away from him wiping my eyes. "Bertholdt..," I started, "What happened to you?"
"What do you mean, y/n?"
"I saw Annie, Reiner, and you leave the training grounds. I tried to follow you guys and I did till we got to the town. That's where I lost you guys."
Berthold didn't say anything just looked at the ground with an expression on his face I could only describe as sad, guilty maybe.
"But I saw you again.."
He looked at me.
"Bertholdt I saw you on the outside wall climbing up it after the Titan disappeared. How did you not get killed?"
"Y/n... I have to tell you something.."
*MANGA SPOILER AHEAD*
"What is it?"
Berthold looked at me, this time I knew guilt was in him.
"I... I am the colossal Titan.."
I stared at him then.
"Ahahaha! Seriously? Bertholdt come on that can't be true!"
His expression didn't change.
"B-Bertholdt that's not true.. I-it's not possible.."
"Y/n it is.. I'm what you call a Titan shifter and I just so happen to become the colossal Titan."
My eyes widened realizing that all these people who died.. My mother.. The walls.. Destruction..It was all him..
"Y/n I'm sorry.. I should've told you.."
"Why?" I asked
He didn't answer. "Y/n I.." He reached for my hand and I slapped his away.
"You... You're.. You're a monster.."
Bertholdt looked shocked that I said that.. I was as well.. I never thought I would call the one person I loved and trusted with my life a monster.
"I.. I know.. Y/n I am so, so sorry.."
