One week later

As I come downstairs, I see Lilly at the kitchen table.

"Listen, Clementine, I'm gonna be in the garage for most of the day. The generator's bust, so yesterday I got some stuff to fix it. I didn't manage to get everything though, so I need you to bring some stuff back," she says, still writing.

"Okay. Have you seen Daniel?" I ask. It's strange, for the past few days I feel like he's been avoiding me. I know, difficult to do when you're living in the same house, but he still manages it, barely speaking to me. I'm a little confused, but I try to shrug it off. I'm sure he has his reasons.

"No, I'm not sure where he is. He disappeared out a while ago, said something about clearing his head. He looked kind of sad, but I just let him go."

"Oh.

"By the way, you also need to get some meds. I couldn't get them in time, but I know there's plenty in the chemists," she says.

I nod.

"Okay. I'm gonna leave now, is that okay?"

Lilly shrugs.

"Sure. Don't forget your bag," she adds.

I nod and grab my pack from where it's been hanging on the back of a chair.

"I'll be back soon," I say, heading outside.

This whole town was deserted when we found it, and somehow practically all the shops were still full

Luckily, the chemists and the tool shop were two of the almost untouched ones. Weird, huh.

I stop walking as a small group of walkers come out from the side of a building. There's only five or six, each of them looking pretty diseased.

I consider shooting them, but instead take out my knife. If I shoot, there's a chance that more will be drawn in.

I lead one walker away from the others and kick it in the knee. It immediately falls over and I plunge my knife into the back of its skull. Blood spurts out from the wound and the walker begins to thrash around- before lying still.

By this time the walkers are getting closer, drawn in by the smell of blood.

I sigh and lead another one over to the side of the road. I take out my club and swing it, hitting the walker between its eyes.

It falls over, dazed for a moment, and I stab it in the back of the neck.

A few minutes later and they're all down.

After the ordeal I continue walking to the chemists, the black blood dripping off my club leaving a trail on the road.

Once I get to the chemists, I remove the wooden plank that Lilly nailed across the door and step inside.

The whole interior is caked in dust, the wooden counter rotting away with age.

However, most of the medicine looks fine, so I take out the list.

Honestly, there's not as much on it as I thought.

Two first aid kits, extra bandages, pain killers, water purification tablets and antiseptic wipes.

I head around the inside of the store and find the first aid kits in no time. The bandages are right beside the kits, so I put some of them in my bag too. Lilly's always complaining they don't put enough in the sets.

The pills are over on the other side of the store, behind the counter. It takes me nearly twenty minutes of searching to find them, which makes me feel like an idiot.
