James led us to the highest floor, which was literally the roof of the main building, which was exactly 10,560 feet up in the air, or two miles high. We could see the entire city below us, and we could also see beyond the wall, outside is a desert, which turn red in the light of the morning sun. One thing you should know, is our world isn't bound by science as yours is. In fact the only science our world follows is our own common sense, like if you die you die, if you fall off a building, you're going to die.
The most amazing thing about the top floor, is that eco collects up there, and the spraying eco from the fountains creates a mist that glistens in the sky and changes it's colors. James picked up Regen and put him on his shoulders, "This floor is known as the Ark of the Heavens. It is said when those worthy are training in the sky, the angels will watch." James then proceeded to one of the containers that gathered falling eco from the fountains, cupped his hands, and began to drink it.
"Eco, is something that this place is abundant with. Instead of letting them build a mine here and just destroy this place harvesting the eco, I decided to build this city so this beautiful place would be safe. Over time we drilled down and built the springs, and chances are, these springs will last longer than this city." He took another drink, then motioned for me and Pyra to come over. "Try some, but be prepared, the taste might surprise you. Regen already knows how it tastes, I basically bottle fed him eco." I dipped my hands in and brought it to my face, the eco in my hand began to turn dark green, "Ah you see, the echo also tells what element you are born to, and it seems yours is earth and nature. Drink some."
I was confused, in fact out of Regen, Pyra, and me, I was the one most in the dark, because they were more intelligent than me, at the time, and actually understood everything going on, i was just a slightly out of the norm girl, but my personality was regular.
I brought the eco to my mouth, and drank. He was right, I should have been prepared, because it didn't taste like a drink, or food, it was just, literally, pure flavor, and it was amazing. "Yummy," I exclaimed with a giggle. I watched Pyra bring the eco to his mouth, it was red, like sizzling red, but it also gave off light. Once he took a gulp he immediately smiled, "It's spicy!" James bent down so Regen could get some, his was clear, and mist rose from it, and he drank. "Salty! Yay!"
James smiled and gave us a reply that even i understood, "Well it's settled then, Regen is rain, Terra is earth. And Pyra, Pyra has a very rare one indeed, Pyra is fire, and those with fire are said to be brothers of the Sun." Pyra gave a smile and did a hand motion, he snapped and swung his arm to his side, and it gave off a spark. "Woah, you almost summoned your blade." James put his hand on Pyra's shoulder, "Now all you need is to find it's name." Pyra thought about that for a second, then asked, "How am I supposed to do that?" James smiled, "How did you know that motion that you did, and why did you do it?" Pyra considered this for a second, unsure of how or why." I looked up at James, "I know! It's because the eco! The eco can tell you things about yourself and help you get strong." James was surprised, "Exactly, you know your pretty smart Terra, keep it up, knowledge is a good tool on the battle field." I grinned at the compliment.
"Yes, the eco massively increases your training speed, and your strength. It opens your mind, it allows you to understand concepts and situations better as well. It can also be used for medical purposes. And the greatest thing, is there are no side affects."
The amazing thing is, until this point I had little idea about anything, but as soon as I drank the eco, I felt something inside me change. Everything was lifted, it was like there was a fog inside me, then the wind blew it away, even my vision was more clear. I understood everything now. I was a small child, but a gulp of that echo, and I had the intelligence of a teenager.
" If your noticing how you changed mentally, don't worry, that will stay, this same thing happened to me, but on accident. This change is permanent, the only thing the echo can do for now, is help you recuperate ofter training. Which will allow us to train long, and hard."
"Sounds great daddy" Regen replied. We might be more understanding, and more intelligent, but our vocabulary hadn't gained any new words.
Pyra looked up at the sky, he seemed lost in it, then he wondered about something," James? How did you find this eco stuff. Didn't you build this city?" James sat on the ledge of a cement container, where eco was trickling down back to the fountain.
"You want to know my story? Well, I guess I can tell you later, we still have some things to cover." He pointed over to the ledge of the building, " First you need to learn how to fall. You see, in a battle many things can happen, and there is always an escape route. First we'll handle falling, then jumping. and after both of those, we will begin your real training."
Pyra stood up and walked over to the edge," We're supposed to fall off this, but we'd die right?" James walked over by Pyra," Normally yes, but we'll start of with short falls, then work towards higher places, until finally we jump from the side of the building. You see, you need to roll your heels just right, and bend your knees just the right amount to take the impact, when you jump off the side and live, you'll be able to fall from the skies."
