Remember Us (Stevie and Ally)

Chapter 9 : She's not Yours

Ally ended the kiss, confused. Stevie opened her eyes.

Stevie - "What..?"

Ally - "Nothing, it just.... Felt really good"

Stevie smiled and kissed her quickly.

Stevie - "We should go home now, it's late and cold. Besides, we shouldn't be here"

She helped Ally get up and walk on the dirt path. Ally winced in pain.

Stevie - "Are you okay ?"

Ally - "Yeah, yeah I'm fine, I just scraped my ankle and it hurts when I move my left foot. I'll be fine it's nothing"

Stevie took a look and, indeed it wasn't really pleasing to see. However, it didn't seem to be alarming.

Stevie - "Take deep breaths and walk slowly, carefully"

Ally - "Stevie I'm so sorry..."

Stevie - "Ally it's okay..."

Ally - "No it's not, you're stuck here in the middle of the night with a terrible .... girlfriend who ran away and can't even remember most of the things related to us !"

Stevie - "I know it's hard. But I understand. It just be hard to wake up and not remember anything from the past two months. I tell you, it's fine"

Ally - "You must still be mad at me, why aren't you mad at me ?"

Stevie - "Why would I be ? You're not to blame. You did not tell that stupid fucking driver to hit you ! I'm here, and I won't move, I love you"

Ally's heart stopped for a second. She loved her but did she feel the same ? She couldn't tell. From her point of view, she barely knew Stevie after all.

Ally - "I'm sorry I... I can't respond to that.. I wish I could but... As long as I won't remember..."

Stevie - "I understand, don't worry. Just know that I won't give up on you and that I won't go anywhere. You can count on me"

Stevie didn't know how to react to that. She wasn't mad but still, she would have loved hearing Ally say 'I love you too'. She couldn't blame her, this situation was probably really stressful and strange for Ally.

Both of them finally arrived where Ally's mom was waiting.

Ally's mom - "Oh, finally ! I was starting to worry" she said, preoccupied. Ally didn't look at her.

Ally's mom - "Sweetie, I'm so sorry... If only I could take this all back, I would..."

Ally - "Oh, you would ? Are you sure you wouldn't take a chance anyway ?"

Ally was really pissed, her hands were shaking.

Ally - "That's the worst thing you could have done to me mom. You knew I trusted everything you'd say. You should be ashamed"

Ally's mom - "I'm so so...."

Ally - "Goodnight mom"

Ally's mom stood there, speechless and watched her daughter and Stevie walking toward the exit. When the got out of sight, she broke down and cried.

The two young women arrived at Ally's house a dozen of minutes later. Ally was exhausted and Stevie opened the door for her. At that moment, something moved into the house : Steven was still there.

Steven - "Sorry, your mom texted me but I just wanted to make sure you were safe so I stayed here"

Ally - "It's fine, really nice of you. You can go home, I've already made you lose a lot of your time"

Stevie couldn't bear him. Maybe it was just jealousy but she only wanted him gone.

Steven - "You never make me waist my time" he said in a very smooth voice while touching her hair. Ally was looking at him, hypnotised. Stevie really felt uncomfortable.

Stevie - "She's home now so... Good night"

Steven glared at her angrily. 'Mind your fucking business' he thought. Too bad he couldn't say it, he wanted to stay nice in front of Ally. He had to play it smart. He leaned forward and kissed Ally's cheek.

Steven - "Stevie, you should let her get some rest, you two must be exhausted after all of this" He looked back at Ally "We'll leave you here and come back to check on you tomorrow. Be careful"

Stevie was furious. How dare he ?! 'Fuck you !!' She thought.

Ally - "I guess you're right... Thank you, both of you for taking care of me. I'm really sorry for this..."

Steven - "It's alright don't worry. I'll always be there. Now go, your bed is waiting for you"

Stevie wanted to punch him in the face.

Ally - "Goodnight.

They both responded and went out, closing the door behind them.

Stevie - "I know what you're doing, it's not going to work, just give up"

Steven - "You wish !! I know her way better than you do so trust me, I know exactly how to win her back. You have no chances!"

Stevie - "She's not interested in you"

Steven - "Says the girl ! Nice one really. She doesn't even remember liking... Girls"

Stevie - "Oh yeah ? I wonder why she kissed me then !"

Steven got angry. His face turned red. Stevie felt confident.

Steven - "Shut up, you're just a replacement ! Don't you think it's a little bit weird that she's dating you after me ?!? Our names being so close ?! Not a coincidence ! You're so naive, she was just looking for someone after we broke up because she missed me, she missed us"

Stevie was very upset, freaked out. He was actually making sense. He looked really proud of him.

Stevie - "Shut up, you know nothing about her and me !"

Steven laughed.

Steven - "You're pathetic..."

Then, he left.
