The next day I want to skip training because I can't stop thinking about what Kaycee told me but I have to go to training the entire week unfortunately.
I force myself to get out of bed and get dressed, I go downstairs and eat breakfast with my family. "What's wrong, sweetie?" Mother asks me. "Hmm ? Oh! There's nothing wrong." I say smiling. We finish eating and chatting about random things. "Well, I have to go to training now. See you tonight!" I say and leave.
I walk very slowly to meet Kaycee. I wish I could skip the next week!
When I finally get to Kaycee I look at her sadly. "I'm so sorry Clove but I thought you might want to know." She says. "I know, I'm very happy you told me. It's just I'm really scared because I don't want to have to volunteer." I tell her. Kaycee comes and gives me a hug.
"So what are we going to do today?" I ask Kaycee. "I was thinking of trying archery." She says. I really don't want to, I'm terrible at archery. "I'm really bad at archery." I say. She grins and hands me a bow.
It takes Kaycee half an hour to show me how to hold the bow. When I'm finally holding the bow correctly she shows me how to hold both the bow and arrow together but that doesn't take as long. "So, who showed you how to hold the bow?" Kaycee asks me. "It was our archery professor, Mr. Bone." I tell her. "Of course." She chuckles "Mr. Bone is terrible at archery. I never understood why he teaches it."
"Okay, so try to hit the dummy in the heart." She says. I aim for the heart but instead I hit the neck. "Well that's not bad!" Kaycee says. "Oh come on Kaycee! I didn't hit what I was aiming for!" I say sadly. "But both shots could've killed someone." She giggles.
We keep trying until about noon but I still haven't been able to hit what I was aiming for. "I'm not grabbing a bow and arrow during the bloodbath!" I say grumpily.
We go and grab some lunch at the nearest café and when we get back Katcee decides to try and teach me hand-to-hand combat.
It goes alright. At the end of the day I can win her easily in a fight and she's really good at hand-to-hand combat.
"It's almost dinner at home, I have to go but I'll see you tomorrow." I say and run off.
