Out of Time

Darkness

My eyes fluttered open. I was surrounded by darkness. I felt around me, trying to see if I cold find a light switch of some sort, but I found nothing. "Hello?" I called out into the darkness. There was no answer. "LUNA HELP ME!" Alicia shouted. "Alicia?!" I called out. "Alicia, where are you?" I asked, turning around. "LUNA HELP US! WE NEED YOU! WE STILL CARE!" David yelled. "DAVID!" I shouted into the darkness, trying to find the brothers. "LUNA I STILL LOVE YOU! I'M SORRY FOR WHAT I DID! PLEASE SAVE US!" Spot shouted. "SPOT!" I shouted, by now I was crying. My friends were in trouble, and I couldn't find them. "They're not here." a voice said. I looked to my right and saw three figures emerge from the sudden white light. "Sarah?" I asked. She nodded. I ran over to her, and hugged her. I didn't fall through her this time. "I missed you." I said. "I missed you too." She said. I looked at the two who had followed her. My eyes widened. "Cat? Brayden?" I asked. "Mommy." Cat said, running to hug me. They looked about 13, just two years younger than me. I hugged her back, and ran my hand down her hair. "You look just like your grandmother." I said, wiping a tear off of her face. "Brayden." I said. He ran to join his sister and I in the hug. "I am so sorry that you two had to grow up alone. I didn't mean for that to happen. I thought I was leaving you in good hands." I said.

"We know." Cat said. "Where am I?" I asked. "The place between death and life." Sarah said. "Why?" I asked. "So we can show you whats going to happen, if you don't stop him." Cat said. "Stop who?" I asked. "Loki." Sarah said. I looked at her confused. "A couple of months ago S.H.E.I.L.D stopped a man named 'Loki'. He used his mind control to take Clint, and one Thor's friends. He used them to his ability. He played with them like puppets. Loki has been taken back to his home planet of 'Asgard, but recently he has escaped, and had vowed to take revenge on the Avengers." Sarah said.  I looked at her. "Sound dangerous." I said. "Very." Cat said. "You need to do everything in your power, to stop him before he does this to you." Brayden said, pointing to an image. I looked at it in horror. I saw Sean, Jack, Anthony, David, Alicia, and Ryan lying in pools of their own blood. It what Peter did to us look like a Disney movie. I turned my head away, not able to look any longer. "What happened to Les and I?" I asked. The three say nothing. "What?" I asked them. "That's the thing, we don't know." Sarah said. "What do you mean you don't know?" I asked. "When things aren't certain, we don't see them. But we know is that if you don't stop Loki, this will happen." Cat said. 

I looked at the image once more. "I can't help them. They don't want anything to do with me." I said. "That's not true. They're under some type of spell." A new voice said. I looked over Sarah's shoulder, and saw the Delancey brothers. I looked at them curious, wondering why they would wanna help me. "Look I know what your thinking. Yes we raped you, yes we picked on you guys everyday, but we didn't want to. Wiesel made us. He hates you all with his guts, and when he found out our sister died because of a drunken Newsie fight, he made sure we did everything in our power to make you pay. Lillian was his everything. They spent so much time together, that when she died, his heart died with her." Morris explained. I looked at them. "He's right. I trust them mom, and so should you." Brayden said, placing a hand on Oscar's shoulder. I smiled at my son. "So much like your grandfather." I said. Brayden smiled at me with Anthony's smile. I looked at the brothers. "I trust you. Now how do you know they're under a spell?" I asked Morris. "We've been watching. We know that Loki isn't controlling them, but we have our suspicions that Alyssa has them under a spell. Whenever she's not around, they go back to who they were before the murders, but when Alyssa is within 30 miles of them, they act like they do when you're around." Oscar explained. I nodded. "But get this, she had a twin sister named Camryn. She works at the museum you and Stark went to yesterday." Morris said. "I KNEW SHE LOOK FAMILIAR!" I shouted. Morris chuckled. 

"Does Camryn have any powers?" I asked them. Oscar nodded. "She worked for S.H.E.I.L.D way before Alyssa came. When Camryn was three, she was caught in an explosion. Her parents were scientists, so naturally the explosion was chemical, but it gave Camryn powers. She can control the elements. She worked at S.H.E.I.L.D when she turned 8, as her aunt thought it'd be best for the family, then when Camryn turned 17, Alyssa came. Now Alyssa was also caught in this explosion, and she was given the powers of lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy, pride, and temptation. We believe that each of your old friends have received one of her gifts." Oscar explained. I looked at them confused. "What do you mean 'received one of her gifts'?" I asked. "What my idiot brother means is that Alyssa can project one or two of her eight gifts onto on person. She can do this to many people all at once." Morris said. I nodded. "So who has what gift?" I asked them. "Spot has lust and temptation, Blink has pride, Alicia has gluttony, Jack has greed, David has sloth, and little Les has envy." Morris said. I nodded. "Why would Les be envious?" I asked curious. "Because Natasha took you away to train, and David and Jack spend a lot of time together, so the only people that Les wants to be around more than anything have been taken away from him." Morris said. I nodded. "He's so young. He's in a place he doesn't understand, having to deal with so much at such a young age." I said. It was silent. 

"So you believe that Alyssa has my old friends under some sort of spell, by using her 'seven deadly sins plus one' powers?" I asked. "Yea pretty much." Oscar said. I laughed. "You guys aren't so bad when you aren't trying to beat me up." I said. They looked at me sympathetically. "We're sorry." Morris said. I looked at them. "It's in the past now. I'm over it." I said. Morris and I made eye contact and I felt something change. I felt happy again. I shook off the feeling and turned my attention back to Sarah and the others. "So how do I stop him?" I asked. "Track him down, and give him back to Thor." Cat said. I nodded. "But first you have to stop Alyssa. Alyssa is working for Loki and if she isn't stopped there's no telling what will happen to them." Sarah said. I placed a hand on her shoulder. "You're about to wake up. When you go, I want you to get Les, and I want you two to train so you can stop Loki. If you don't stop Loki everything you fought for, everything you died for, will crumble. Luna you are the glue that hold everybody together. They still love you, they still care. We all do." Sarah said, before I slipped out of the darkness. My eyes snapped open. "Les."
