Chapter 7

About half an hour later the hall was full of people. Rishi had me glued to his side he introduced me to some of his friends and I met Jay. He only introduced me to some of his main family, and I was kind of glad. I mean we had only known each other for a couple months and I knew I was head over heels for him.

We all sat down and had our starter, I poured Rishi's before I poured mine and Rishi's mom wouldn't sit down. I had a bit to eat and went over to her.

"I will make sure they bring the cake out on time, you go and eat you haven't had anything yet properly" I sat her down poured her food and she ate. I talked to the party planner and helped bring out the cake. Once everyone had finished eating I called Rishi's parents and Sonia and told that they were ready to do the cake, I stayed at the back but Rishi took my hand and he brought me to the front with his family. He had his hand on my back and people were looking at me.

The DJ put on Diljit Dosanjh Happy Birthday and Sonia cut her cake. People started giving her presents, feeding her cake and taking pictures. She took one with just her parents and brother then one with me and her parents and Rishi. Then just one with Rishi and I, after they had finished the cake bit Sonia went up on the stage.

"Thank you all for coming and I would just like to specially thank my parent's brother who made this happen. Also to Riya, for baking my cake for me, it was amazing. I hope you all have a great time" she came off the stage and hugged her parents and me.

"The cake was really good, thank you" the music started and everyone started dancing, I was dancing with Sonia and she could move. Rishi came over and handed us both some juice.

"Thanks" he started dancing with us and an elderly woman came over to us.

She asked him how old he was and he said 22, she started giving him proposals and I couldn't stop laughing. His face was too funny, his mom rescued him and he turned to me.

"You'd think they would get the idea that I'm with someone" he spun me around and started dancing with me. The main meal was served and Rishi's mom was running about checking if anyone needed anything. She looked tired so I told Rishi, "Let's go round and ask if anyone need's anything, your mom needs to sit down for a while" he nodded and held my hand.

We went around and told her to sit and eat, she did as we asked and everybody finished eating. Rishi and I ate after together and then the waiters were serving rasmalai.

"Riya they haven't brought out the ice cream for the kid's could you do that for me please" I nodded and went into the kitchen. I started pouring a few bowls and Rishi took them out.

Everyone had finished the food and started dancing again and then my song came on.
