Harry's POV

Rebecca turned to stare at me in horror. Louis did the same, his adam's apple bobbing in his throat as he swallowed hard.

"Why are they here?" Louis mouthed, the words never escaping his lips. I shrugged helplessly.

Slowly, I moved towards the door. Everything seemed to go in slow motion, my feet moving as if I was wading in a pool of molasses. My heart started to pound. Were they here for Rebecca? Did they come to take her away? Did Jake do something bad? Was somebody hurt?

As my fingers finally gripped the doorknob and turned, the time seemed to catch up with me because the door swung open rather quickly. And before me, were three uniformed police officers.

"Hello officers...can I uh help you?" I asked.

"Yes, you can actually. Have you seen this woman?" One of the policeman held up a photograph. My whole being started to shake within myself. It was Rebecca. Same blond hair, same icy blue eyes, all trapped in a photograph with a smiling Jake.

I stuttered on my sentence for a moment, choking on my own words. "N-No, I don't think I have seen her. She doesn't look familiar."

Idiot! Why did you say that!

Because Jake is probably looking for her, that's why.

The officer who held the photograph sighed deeply through his nose. "Alright. Well if you happen to see her around anywhere, please don't hesitate to contact us." He retracted his hand and tucked the picture into his front pocket.

"Have a nice day," One of the officers nodded my way.

"You too," I said shakily, shutting the door as they walked down the hallway. Once the door was fully shut, I leaned against it and exhaled.

"Shit, man what did they want?" Louis asked. Rebecca was standing next to him, her eyes wide and confused.

"They uh...were looking...for..some girl. Missing person, I think." I said quickly. Louis' eyebrow rose up, and a look of disbelief soon flashed onto his features, only to quickly be replaced by relief.

It hurt my heart to lie to Louis and Rebecca like that, but it was only a white lie hidden with the truth. I did say the truth...didn't I? They did come to the door looking for a missing girl.

But as for who the missing girl was, I didn't specify on purpose. And I don't know why. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that Rebecca would be returning to the son of a bitch - Jake.

Suddenly, I felt a hand rest over the skin of my arm, and I looked up from under my curls that shaded my face. It was Rebecca, her face wraught with worry.

"Harry, are you...a-alright?" She whispered. I quickly nodded.

"Yeah! Fine! Just..uh...nothing." I smiled.

"Harry, I have to go." Louis said from the front door. I swiveled on my heel and stared at Louis. He was pulling his toms onto his feet with no socks as usual.

"Where?"

"Got go record today, finish up the songs on that new album, remember? I told you yesterday." Louis' hand was now on the door, and his blue eyes were staring at me. He looked so handsome, his coat pulled taught over his shoulders and his hair tufted into a neat quiff.
