The beginning of magic

Just Another Normal Day

I wake up to the sound of my alarm clock, ugh another day gone by and another day to come, I thought. I pulled out of bed and started getting changed. After 10 minutes I finish, I walk to the bathroom and brush my teeth, then Emma walks in.
"Morning" she says her voice peppy and happy. I finish and wash my face.
"Why are you in a good mood?" I ask.
"It's your big 15th birthday today remember?"
"Yeah so?"
"Maybe Ms. Mariano will give you less work today" she answers; Ms. Mariano is the owner of the orphanage we live at, I swear she hates us but work like ours is normal for an orphanage.
"I highly doubt it but whatever you think" I talk back. She shrugged and I walked out.
I walked downstairs and saw Ms. Mariano, she had long straight brown hair, and her skin tone was pretty much the same color as her hair just barely there, she had green eyes, and an expression that said I hate kids and something else I could never read.
"Alexa",she states, "happy birthday now please start to cook breakfast I have a client waiting" I nodded and walked over to the fridge and grabbed the eggs, I started to cook them then Tristan and Josh walked down.
"Hey guys" I said scrambling the eggs.
"Hey Alex" Tristan said calling me my nickname.
"Happy birthday Alex" Josh says.
"Thanks guys now will you help me with breakfast we have the whole orphanage and school in an hour" I said pushing them to work. They started to get the plates and milk and setting the table, I finish 5 minutes later and Emma and Sara walk down with our bags and books with all the other kids behind them.
"Hey guys", I whispered to my friends, "I really hate being the oldest here everyone else is 10 or under" they all nodded in agreement then Ms. Mariano walks in.
"Ok you 6 get to school you have 25 minutes" she pushes us out the door. We grab our stuff and walk out the door.
"I really hate my life" I said.
"We all do Alex but we can't do anything about it maybe something good will happen to us soon after all were all officially 15" Sara encourages us and everyone but me nods.
We get to school and go to our classes sitting in the back like always. I must've zoned out because before I knew it I was at lunch meeting my friends. Since I don't eat lunch I went to out table on the field. My friends all came over and sat by me. We stay silent for 5 minutes then Chelsea Zomiro starts walking over. Chelsea has long blonde hair that she curls and a skin tone that matches her hair perfectly, and aquamarine blue eyes, so I guess you could already tell she was the most popular girl in school.
"Well if it isn't the outcasts" she says. I feel my hands form fists and starts to squeeze them.
"Aww nothing?? Wow I thought you guys couldn't ignore me any longer looks like you guys did" Chelsea says her posse laughing behind her. Then Chelsea signals her friend Brittney Smith, she has short brown hair and black eyes, and Brittney pulls Emma on the floor and scratches her arms. That's it, I thought. I stood up and banged my fist on the table.
"Aww is the leader of the outcasts gonna do something now?" She insults
"Aww is the snotty brat gonna be a bitchy slut now?" I insult mocking her tone. She signals Brittney again and Brittney kicks Emma in the stomach, I punch Chelsea and Brittney right in the nose giving them a bloody nose. Just then the Principal Reyes walks over.
"Ms. Setori" he addresses me, "please follow me" I do as he says and am in his office before I know it.
"Now what was it this time?" He asks, principal Reyes understands us outcasts I don't know how but he does its nice.
"She was making Brittney beat up Emma" I explained.
"I see I won't punish you today because it's your birthday and you were standing up for your friend but don't expect this later" he dismissed me and I nodded. Wow no punishment I love Principal Reyes, I thought.
I walked to my next class and pretty much zoned out until the end of the day.
All 6 of us were walking back to the orphanage then Tristan breaks the silence.
"Ok I can't take it anymore, Alexa why did you punch Chelsea and Brittney??" He questioned.
"Let's see shall we: she kicked Emma and is a big bitch" I pointed out.
"You know she has a point" Emma says siding with me.
"Yeah T, Alex is right" Jon says agreeing with Sara nodding in agreement.
"All right then she's right we'd better hurry or Ms. Mariana will kill us" he said and we raced home.
At the orphanage Ms. Mariana was on the phone and of course me being me I eavesdropped:
".. Really you want them?" She asks the client, "are you sure, I mean they're older and...." She pauses, "all right then when will you pick them up?" She waits, "all right tomorrow it is I'll tell them now thank you bye" she says and hangs up, I sprint upstairs and see everyone in Josh's room.
"You guys won't believe it" I said.
