"Listen up!" A teacher who stands in front of his desk on the far left side of the classroom,  yells at us. "I know all, or at least most of you are freshman." A kid shuffles and his movements signs that he is the person that th teacher was hinting at.

"So we're going to spend the week, or basically several days, just getting to know each other, basic stuff. You are all to introduce each other, and then I will give you all the seating arrangement." A pause and he says, "Well go on, don't mind me, talk to each other."

So I get up out of my seat and walk to Beth and we look at each other, unsure if we should start talking to people, or if people should come to us. But the choice was made for us as soon as a brown haired girl walked up to us with a cheery smile.

"Hi, my name is Aimee." She showed us a toothy grin. "It's spelled A-I-M-E-E."

"That's cool." Both Beth and I replied in unison. Then the three of us laughed.

"Hey Aimee, I'm Beth." They exchanged handshakes as I began introducing myself.

"And I'm Ana." We also nod heads and smile at each other.

"So, how's this day been for you guys?" Aimee asks.

"Eh, its's been ok." Beth sits on a desk, continuing the conversation. "But at orientation I was freaking out. I was liked, What if I don't know anyone in any of my classes? What if the teachers are rude and mean?  I was so stressed out man. I didn't know what to think. God, I'm such a worry-puss."

"Don't worry, that's what this week is for, to get to know people  in your classes." Aimee smiles and turns her attention to me, but I was only half listening as she asked me. "How was your day so far Ana?"

"Oh, um. It was ok. I woke up late today though." I try to execute a laugh as if that it was a joke. It wasn't, but they laughed along anyways.

"So... What other classes do you guys have?" Aimee tries changing the subjects, and it looks like Beth and I share no  classes with this girl. "Oh well, there's next term!" She exclaims and walks away to talk to other people.

"What did you think of her?" Beth whispers in my ear as soon as Aimee is out of ear shot.

"Eh, she's ok, but she's too, happy, for me." I shrug and we walk around the classroom introducing ourselves.

Most of the class doesn't stand out to me, but Beth quickly makes friends and I continue to try the minimum social contact with everyone. BY the time we've talked to everyone, there was one more kid that we haven't talked to yet. It was a gloomy looking guy in the corner who had his hood up and head down.

"Should we try him?" I point at the guy and Beth's eyes dart to his direction and immediately shakes her head.

"Um, I'd rather not. But for all means, go ahead. I'll go talk to Sara a bit more, she seems friendly." And she walks away and starts talking to this black haired Asian across the room.

So I walk over to the other end of the corner and sit on the chair in front of him. I spin around and tap his shoulder. "Hey."

He lifts his head from the desk and smirks. "What do you want?" His voice is snarky and annoying, but then I notice his hair and his eyes hair being jet black, and eyes as pale as snow. He's gorgeous.

It takes me a while to put my thoughts together. "Um, I'm Ana. Who are you?" I hint at a smile until he laughs.

"I didn't think any of you would have the nerve to talk to me." He runs his hand through his hair, tipping the hood of his sweater back. "I'm Bryant."
