Chapter 4:

I was sleeping so, so soundly. I actually haven’t had a good night’s rest in a while.

I’d always wake up at some crazy hour in the morning, even for just a few seconds, then fall back asleep, but tonight? Tonight it was sound, sleeping, peaceful, and calm.

But then I heard Dawn start talking. I was still half asleep, like it almost felt like a dream. Although I know I never dream about anyone from camp.

Except Scott; I have had horrible night mares about Scott. One was him and I being stuck together on the island – just the two of us forever. Ugh, then the worst, Scott and I were…I can’t even bring myself to come up with the thought.

We were all…like dating…and in love…and, ugh, you know the rest. It was so bizarre! I never thought of him that way. Maybe for like a millisecond when I saw him on the boat for the first time.

I mean he’s not that bad looking. I’ve seen worse. But his personality literally shits on any small good looks he has.

Anyways, so I heard Dawn start talking while I was half asleep “What’s that little one? Evil is lurking? Let me guess…Chris?”

I was going to just roll over and pretend I didn’t even hear her talking, but then of course a giant horn was blown and we all had to get up.

“Run! Run for your lives!!” Chris yelled from outside.

Everybody threw clothes on and ran outside yelling at each other and screaming in general, pushing and shoving to get out of the cabins.

The horn was still blowing loud and clear till we were all outside and saw that Dakota; Chris’ new intern was blowing it.

Chris made her stop and took off headphones that blocked the sound out. “Thanks intern!” he yelled to her.

“Huh?!” She yelled back, her ears clearly blown out.

I looked around with no danger to be seen, did Chris really just disturb a very nice sleep for nothing?

“Hi Dakota! Ha-haa” Sam laughed nervously. He was so cute with his crush for her.

“Huh? Speak up!” Dakota yelled to him, then yelled as Chris knocked her over with a large board of the island, oh great, a challenge in the dead of night.

“Challenge time!” Chris said enthusiastically.

“What happens if I just go back to bed? I’m sleepy” I said rubbing my eyes.

“Aw, you’re sleepy Julie?” Chris asked in a sweet voice; obviously fake.

“Just a tad” I replied.

He came next to me and grabbed his mega phone “THEN WAKE UP!”

I held my ears and groaned “Yeah, yeah I’m good”

“You really thought saying “You’re sleepy” would work?” Lightning asked half laughing.

I shoved him to the side “It was worth a shot”

“Challenge time? Now? In the middle of the night? When it’s all, you know, dark?” Brick questioned fearfully.

“Your challenge! A scavenger hunt for three creepy souvenirs. Your locations? A haunted forest, a scary pet cemetery, and an extra spooktastic cave!” Chris said.

I went in the confessional, starting it off with a small scream \“I hate scary things, like spiders, and ghosts, and killers, and zombies and just ah! My team better not be as wussy as I am, cause I’m the biggest scaredy cat you can find”/
