Roses have Thorns

Cedric waited for me in the common room, it had been a week and Iris had not returned. Jacob was trying to get Sofia alone to try and gain information, although these days Cedric tried to keep Sofia safe at all times, for Iris.

Cedric began to see the alikeness in Iris and Sofia, both two completely different people on the outside who become another two completely different people when you get to know them. Being around Sofia was the closest Cedric had gotten to seeing Iris, although him and Sofia were excited of what would become of the meeting today.

"So what are you expectations?" Cedric asks me as we walk to take the first set of carriages, the school is quiet as most students use weekends to get a long deserved lie in.

"Hermione Granger is organising it and she is friends with Harry Potter, it will involve him." I predict, we smile and arrive at the carriages, we also spot Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley get on one behind us.

We get on our own carriage and me and Ced sit opposite each other. I love the feel of when the carriage when it goes over the rock. Cedric keeps looking at the Thesterals behind me.

"You see them, don't you?" I ask, he looks at me oddly.

"What are they?" He asks, I look behind and see them happily pulling us along. So innocent yet the seem so guilty.

"Thesterals. Only those who have witnessed death can see them." Cedric shivers again, I can feel it as it makes me shiver too.

"Don't kill me for asking what happened that day?" I ask him, he must have saw death then. He couldn't have seen it anywhere else.

"A man was walking through the graveyard just after Voldemort had came back. Without any hesitation." Cedric doesn't care if he didn't know the person. It's a life, a life somebody somewhere cared about gone like, that. Although I love the way he speaks Voldemort. No you-know-who nonsense. "You?"

"It was a Muggle Murdering actually, I was shopping with my friends and someone was shot." I remember the day like it was yesterday. It was frightening and I look back at it and tears usually spring down my eyes. I manage to hold them back.

"Well I know that I'm not the only one." Cedric smiles and put his hand on mine. We are then there at the village and he holds onto it as we get off and doesn't let go, maybe he doesn't like Iris anymore. Maybe he now likes Sofia, maybe we can be together-

Iris' back turns around and looks at us then runs, WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING HERE?! Cedric kets go of my hand and walks fast, trying to follow my figure. Iris doesn't freeze and run, she clearly wants to be followed. We follow her into the woods and she is sitting on a rock.

"Don't let Jacob see you go into the Hogs Head okay?" Iris says, Cedric is shocked.

"How do you know about the meeting?" Cedric asks.

"I know half the things that go on in this school. Although the meeting was a well kept secret let me say." Iris smiles.

"When are you coming back?" Cedric asks, I feel like I am losing him now, although myself knows that, I am the one doing this.

"I thought I'd be back by now but Jacob's worse than I thought. I want to return but it's not safe yet." Iris sighs and Cedric  sits next to her.

"I've managed to keep Sofia safe from Jacob, after what happened. I can keep you.." Cedric, don't think for one second you know what's going on.

"No you can't. Sofia is a good opportunity for Jacob but I'm what he wants. Even if you are protecting me he won't hesitate to get it back. He has this rare gene in his family line which makes him like this. It's going to be a lot longer until I'm safe here again." Cedric moves his hand and looks away. "I should be going, in case anybody finds us." Iris walks away and Ced just lets her. I move to where Iris was sitting and look at him.
