Chapter One
"Where is she you stupid bitch!" the annoying asshole yelled right in my face, causing spittle to dust it. Tied to a chair in the middle of a basement that looked like a rape dungeon wasn't exactly what I had expected when I thought about spring break.
"I already told you I don't know where my mother went, I haven't seen her in years" I said straight back into his face. These idiots didn't know how to take no for an answer. Just as he was about to reach for another weapon to leak the truth from me an ear splitting scream emitted from upstairs where they were holding my twin sister Indigo. My heart stopped as I heard her pleas for help that nobody but me to hear. The guy 'assigned' to me, who I had decided to call big bird due to his size, slowly turned around to face me a grin in place as he witnessed my pain for my sister.
"How about a little time with your sissy, maybe that will get the truth from your stubborn mouth." his voice echoed throughout the small interior of the basement, as he walked up the stairs, each step he took caused the staircase to creak under his weight. As soon as he was out of sight I started to work on my hands, slowly working my pocket knife on the edge on the rope. It seemed to take forever for the ropes to slack in my hands and fall off onto the dusty ground. After I felt the rope hit the ground I started untying my legs which only took a matter of seconds. Finally free from my torture chair I crept under the stairs waiting for big bird to walk down into basement.
After about five minutes I heard the familiar sound of his weight on the stairs, I poised in an offence position that dad had drilled into me since I was ten. His meaty calf muscle came into view in between the stairs. I struck out with my knife ripping open his leg and felt the knife graze the bone coming away bloody. His scream of pain ripped through the basement before he toppled down the stairs head first. Upon reaching the bottom the sound of his scull connecting with the stone hard ground reached me.
Knowing I didn't have long I grabbed a second knife from the table next to my torture chair and raced up the stairs careful to avoid the pool of blood left from big bird's leg.
Before I reached the top Indigo was already up and had a weapon of her own. I gave her a questioning look asking her silently about the scream. "Figured you were cooking up a plan," she shrugged it off like it was nothing "just wanted to move it along, those guys were getting on my nerve." Figures she knew me inside and out, like I did her, she would know I could get us out of any situation.
"Now that we're out of our torture chambers, how about we kick some ass." she said with a wicked grin on her face. Not long after that we heard heavy footsteps approaching us from the hall way. The first assassin to reach us I tripped causing him to land flat on his stomach and wind himself in the process. I left Indie to deal with him as I headed further down the hall to find the other goof ball.
I managed to reach the end of the hall without encountering another attack from our assassins. This house was a maze of hallways which could have lead them in any direction. The creak of a floor board behind me alerted me before I was jumped from behind. Crashing to the hard floor, my head cracked against the wall causing my head to swim and my eyes to become unfocused. Disorientated for a moment the assassin managed to get a hold of my flailing arms with an iron grip. He yanked me around with enough force to send me crashing through the wall, but I managed to hold my ground. "You couldn't honestly think it would be that easy to escape from us, did you." I could feel his breath on the back of my neck as he whispered to me.
"I am quite sick of your kind hacking away at us like common monsters, I think I will have some fun with you." I felt the sharp edge of a serrated knife against my back, each sharp point digging into my flesh. Just as I thought I was done for it the assassin crumpled to the ground with a steady stream of blood leaking from under him. Indie stood over him with a blood soaked knife left in her hand.
