Readers POV
While you enjoy acting, the class today just felt too long. You hate the first days of class, you go over the same rules, boring assignment deadlines and what's expected of you. But tomorrow will be better.
"Class for tomorrow we will be doing Suzuki Statue exercises, so wear comfortable, easy to move around in clothes." You've never done anything like that before so you are excited but also a little nervous. What if everyone is better at all of this than you? It doesn't matter, all you want to do is to get out of here and meet up with Kankri. Before you can leave the class you are stopped by a small group of trolls who are in your class.
"Hey! You are new here right?" Questions the dark-haired girl, she looks friendly, but she isn't looking directly at you, you turn your head to make sure she is talking to you. The taller boy to her right points at her cane, you hadn't noticed the white tip at the end before. She's blind; you are more than mildly embarrassed.
"Yes, I just transferred here, my name is (F/N)." You smile warmly, and that makes you feel stupid as she obviously can't see it. Though her friends seem to appreciate it.
"I'm Terezi, and this is Eridan," she gestures vaguely to the right, "and this is Karkles!" Karkles hits Terezi in the arm and glares at her. He returns his attention to you and corrects her.
"MY NAME IS KARKAT." You smile at him and nod.
"Would you like to come hang out with us? We are going to the library to meet up with a few other people." Terezi asks, she leans towards you more, resting more weight on her cane. Her red glasses lens gave the illusion of her staring into your soul.
"Thank you Terezi, but I made plans to get lunch earlier with a boy I met in my debate class. Though I would love to get to know you all better another time."
"That's okay (f/n) tomorroww wwe'll be havvin' a meeting for the improvv team. I'm sure you wwill havve fun on your date." Erdian says, he gives you an exaggerated wink, probably thinking this is hilarious. Before you can correct him on his little assumption, a loud voice breaks through.
"Do we even want to hang out with her? She is in DEBATE, Like my BROTHER! And we all know what HE is like." Karkat bursts out. He looks in your direction again, and scans you from head to toe and back, then smirks. "Maybe not *EXACTLY* like Kankri, you haven't warned me about triggers yet." You blush a little, and straighten up.
"What a small world, your brother Kankri is actually who I'm on my way to see. He seems a lot more pleasant than you make him out to be though. I'll see you tomorrow?" You walk off quickly, not wanting to keep Kankri waiting. That could be triggering.Karkat's POV
Admittantly, the girl is pretty, but hanging out with KANKRI? WILLINGLY? She must be out of her mind.
"Your brother got a date wwith HER? Damn Vvantas, your gonna havve to congratulate him for me." Your fishy friend chimes in.
"Why? Is she pretty? On a scale from one to me, how pretty is she?" Eridan rolls his eyes and huffs his retort.
"Wwhy such a small scale?" He smirks, Terezi sticks her tongue out at him. He turns his head back toward you while you walk away, clearly checking out your ass. "I'd say she's at least a sevven." He says with a shrug. You sigh and whisper,
"At least a ten."Readers POV
You leave the theatre and look around. You spot Kankri on a bench writing something. His bright sweater compliments the interior brick wall that he rests against.
"Hello Kankri," you say as you approach the troll. He continues writing, he must not have heard you. You try again, a bit louder this time, "Hello? Kankri?" Still nothing. "Kankri? Kankri are you okay?" You grab his shoulders to get his attention. He looks up at you with a confused look on his face, you slide your hands from his shoulders to his palms, then help him to his feet. He turns his face down to the ground and mumbles something. It sounds like 'trigger warning physical touch.' So you let go and and take a step back. "Sorry," you start, "I couldn't seem to get your attention..."Kankri's POV
After you are up you try to avoid her gaze for a moment, you look down and whisper to yourself, "trigger warning flush crush." You can't believe you are so suddenly smacked with these silly emotions. You are sure they will go away now that you have acknowledged their presence. She lets go of your hands and takes a step back.
"Sorry, I couldn't seem to get your attention..." Her face is red, you've obviously embarrassed her, how dreadfully rude of you.
"No I am very sorry this was my fault. I started working on the debate assignment while I was waiting for you and got a bit wrapped up." Her cheeks go from red to pink, so she must feel a little better. Hoping to regain a bit of physical contact, you extend your hand to her, "Shall we go?" This was a huge risk, you should tag it. "Trigger warning, physical contact, leading, potential fast walking."
You look to her eyes for reassurance, she smiles and takes your hand. You begin to lead her to the diner, and out of the corner of your eye you see your brother Karkat. You decide to ignore him for the time being, hopefully that doesn't upset him, but you fear you've kept (F/N) waiting long enough.
You and (F/N) were mostly quiet on the short trip, you fell into a synced pattern of walking, still holding hands as you approached the diner. You were a regular here at the Salt and Pepper Diner, the staff was very nice and worked under the dear, "grandma Harley", as she was so called. She is a kindly older lady, but can be a bit trying at times. It's been on more than one occasion she had attempted to set you up on dates with other customers. You know she means well, and you would never even consider lecturing her on the triggers associated with it. You almost considered actually following her advice when she introduced you to another troll by the name of Cronus. You and he actually became friends of sorts instead.
Dropping (F/N)'s hand you grab the door for her and allow her to enter. She giggles a little,
"Thank you again, Sir Vantas." You join her after she walks in and lean down a little a whisper,
"Still not a Knight, but I approve of the nickname." She looks up at you and playfully rolls her eyes. Grandma Harley sees the both of you and her eyes light up.
"Kankri, my dear who is your lovely friend?"
"Grandma Harley this is (F/N) I met her in class today, I'm showing her around. (F/N), this is Grandma Harley. The owner of this little diner and a real sweet heart." Harley vigorously shakes (F/N)'s hand.
"It's wonderful to meet you dear," she turns toward the dining room and shouts, "EQUIUS, TABLE FOR TWO!" She turns back to you and (F/N) and smiles. "He will be right with you.
She leaves and walks over to Equius, who was helping a table. She whispers something in his ear; he very suddenly straightens up, then turns his head to face you. He looks (F/N) up and down, then nods. He catches your eye, and sends you a very large smile. If you can get over the few missing teeth; he has a nice smile. He whispers something back to grandma Harley, she nods in response. This whole exchange is putting you on edge. After finishing with the family at his table, he comes over to greet you.
"Hello, Kankri. (F/N), I presume?" He shakes her hand, you can tell he is trying to be incredibly gentle. Equius is a lot of things and most of it is pure strength. "It's a pleasure to meet you. If you'll follow me I have a table ready for you." You have a feeling something is about to happen here.(A/N) I hope you guys like this it's been a while since I've updated, I lost a lot of inspiration for this story.
