Chapter 3

After school, me and the girls decided to hangout at Jen's and watch movie. We end up watching 5 episodes of Gossip Girl just to see the handsome Chace Crawford.

"Hey, I was talking to Josh this morning and he invited us to his party tomorrow night."

I shrugged. "Yeaa I don't know, I don't really know him. You guys should come"

Leia shot a glare at me. "Oh come on El, it'll be fun. This is our last year. You gotta loosen up,live your live. Meet some guys"

"Right. Guys are not my priority right now. I haven't send my college application and I haven't start my history assignment. Why in the world Mr.Q paired me with that douche? Ugh" I burried my face on a pillow.

When I turned my face I found 3 pairs oy eyes glaring at me. "Seriously dude, you gotta chill out," Denise commented.

Jen narrowed her eyebrows "That new guy pretty hot though"

"Yea his a troublemaker," Denise grabbed the newest People magazine and start reading.

"This afternoon he's called to the principle's office. Rumor said he brought a knife to school," she continued.

My mouth hung opened. Are you fucking kidding me?!?!?!?!

"My partner is a serial killer. I am so dead"

Jen looked at me in disbelief "Man, you gotta change your ringtone"

"Hell no. This song is a masterpiece" I grabbed my iPhone and answer it. It was my mom.

"Hey Mom. Oh you guys are back back from China? And you're 5 blocks away from our house? Nope. I'm at Jen's but I'll be home soon. Kay. Bye"

"Was that your parents?" Leia asked.

"Yup. They're back. Gotta get home. Bye guys"

Great. My parents are in town. Everything's just great.

Ugh. My dysfunctional family. Having a dinner together. Living in harmony. Not.

"How's your first day of school? If i'm not mistaken, you're a senior now"

Geez....thanks for remembering dad.

"School's fine."

Mom decided to start another subject. "Have you decided where you wanna go to college?"

"No." I lied. I actually decided to go to Oxford. Yes, it's in UK. I guess I'm not ready to tell

them. In fact, I haven't send my application. My friends don't even know.

"El, you have to decide right away. You know that posponed things is just gonna make it worst right?"

Here we go again.

"Relax dad, I still got a year ahead. I really wantto enjoy my senior year."

My dad laugh humorlessly. "Ellie, you know that our family never relax."

"Honey, giver her a break. We don't want to ruin the beginning of her senior year don't we?"

Finally.Thanks mom. Yup. This is my family. My grandfather built his company,White Industries, from zero. After he passed away, my dad inherit his company. Couple of years ago, Mr. Montgomery aka Denise' dad decided to invest in our company. Then, we started to hang out and became besties right away.

"El, tomorrow me and your father will go to Italy to meet our clients. We'll be back in a week."

"You're leaving again?tomorrow?you just got here!" Anger and disbelief run through my veins. This is exactly what I hate when they came home. They went home so that they can tell me they're leaving. Again. It's been like this since dad inherited grandpa's company, 10 years ago.

"It's just for week,El. Besides, your friends will always be there for you if you need something," mom said it so easily and that's it. I can't take it anymore.

"I don't need friends! Don't you get it?! I NEED MY PARENTS!" I ran upstairs to my bedroom, locked the door and tears spilled out from my eyes.

Music banging loudly across Josh's living room. To say this party was crowded is an understatement. I could barely walked from one place to another. Most of them were dancing or making out and the rest were drunk. Denise and Jen were dancing with the guys from the football team and Leia were flirting with Brad. And I'm here, standing alone in the corner eating chips.

Two bowls of chips later, Denise yelled on my face ruining my forever-alone moment. "Why are you here?!" The music was extremely loud so we have to yelled.

"You're the one who forced me to come!"

"No! I mean why are you standing here? You should be dancing! Talk to some guys! Not standing here! Come on let's dance" She grabbed my arm. I hesitate. Dancing is a bad idea for me. "I think I'll pass. It's freakin hot in here! I'm going to get some fresh air"

"Oh come on don't be such an ass!"

"I'll be back in a few seconds then I'll dance! I promise"

After Denise went back to dance, I went to Josh's backyard to get some air. It was dark but at least the air was a refreshment. I stood there while admiring the stars when a low familiar voice surprised me. "Enjoying the view?" I literally jumped a little when I found Austin standing right next to me, staring at the night sky.
