Chapter four:Stand in the Rain—Superchick.
At school the next day, I had a big surprise waiting for me in first period.Correction, two and a half big surprises, since one of them is too tiny to be considered a big surprise.
Gabe, Cooper and William.Sitting in the front row, looking oddly out of place.
“Dude! Who are the new hot guys?”Wendy gushed, just like every other girl in the room. They were being bombarded with questions.Especially Gabe.
They looked scared out of their minds, and annoyed. To me, it was funny.
“LAYLA!”Gabe shouted, squeezing through the crowd of screaming fan-girls.
They all turned to glare at me.If I could blush…I’d be red with embarrassment right now.
“What do you want Gabe?”Wendy just stood by me, mouth hanging open.As if to ask ‘you know them??’
“Hey.We chose your school out of all the possible school’s available to us.”He replied smugly.Like I was lucky to have him here.
“Yeah.I can see that.”I replied sarcastically.Pulling my notes out to do the problem on the board.
“Well, sorry.I was just trying to make conversation.”He scoffed at my tone, his face turning into confusion and anger.
“Well, don’t.Go talk to some Britney Spears wanna-bes.”I told him, jolting my head to where the fan girls stood talking to a smiling Cooper and William.
“Whatever.”He said, going to sit down as the bell rang and all the girls cooed ‘aw’ together.
“L-layla?You know them??”Wendy stuttered staring at the three boys.
“They know my grandma.Gabe found me after the funeral when I ran away.”
“How cute!”Wendy squealed, peeking over my head to get a good view at the boys.

Cooper had Biology with me, and he surprisingly made it fun.Though he got in trouble a lot.
I had History with Gabe.Who was taking well to the attention.
I sat down next to Brandon and sighed.
“What?”He asked, noticing my fowl mood.
“That. It just bugs me.Like we need more cocky guys to go to our school.”I said, exasperatedly, while pointing at Gabe.I had to admit, it hurt a little.I thought out of all of them, Gabe was the most different. The most like me.But I was wrong.
He was currently talking to Matthew, of all people and they were getting along well.
Brandon put his arm around my chair and started kissing my neck as I tried to get him off.I just wanted to complete the book page assignment.
“What the hell Layla.”He breathed, backing away and sticking his feet up on the table.
I ignored him.I didn’t feel like dealing with him right now.
Turns out, much to my disappointment, at least one of them had every class with me except Art.And they had Lunch with me as well.Of course they all sat at Matthew’s table.Sabrina, the school’s biggest whore was all over Gabe and he seemed to like it.
I was more than relieved when school was over.I couldn’t wait to get away from Gabe and his new ‘possy’.Go figure.Out of all schools in America, this one would poison the nicest of guys.
I drove home in time to eat, change into my track uniform, and sneak the house phone to call Brandon.I got his voicemail.
“Hey.Uhm, I was just wondering if you were coming to the meet. And I’m sorry about today, I’m just having a bad week. It’d mean a lot if you came.”I hung up.
