"Ugh...." I muttered, not daring to open my eyes. My head felt raw and it was throbbing in the back. I reached a hand back to cautiously touch it. "Ow!" I exclaimed, jerking my hand back. I was confused. Why did Mrs. Applebaum hit me? She could't have been that mad about me not going home. What the heck was her motive?

"Hey, look...the brunette is awake!" said a hissing voice that could only be Strigoi. I blinked and opened my eyes, looking around. I was inside a cell. Seriously, like....a prison cell. Three Strigoi were standing outside of the bars. They were lucky. If I could get out of here I'd pummel them.

"Why the fuck am I in here?" I asked angrily, getting up and stomping around the cell. "Ugh," I groaned, holding my head. I guess I got up too fast. I plopped back down on the cold, hard, ground.

"You're not allowed to ask questions," one of the Strigoi said. He was tall and deathly pale. His eyes were a flaming red. He was the scariest Strigoi I had ever seen.

"Whatever," I said. "Tell me what the heck is going on," I said and put my hand through the bars. To my surprise, I got shocked and thumped back onto the ground. The Strigoi cackled nastily at me. "Bug off," I muttered, and just decided to sit there.

What was I going to do? I had a crazy, insane, evil teacher who kidnapped me and brought me to this place. She must have an alliance with the Strigoi. Cass was a Strigoi now and the rest of my peers were off somewhere in some cave in Spokane possibly being turned into vile creatures out to kill. Ugh. I banged my head against the floor angrily. I couldn't get out of here without being electrocuted to death.

I felt like crying. I felt like dying. I wasn't going to get there in time....was I? A tear slipped out of my eye and plopped onto the floor. It was hopeless. I felt so clueless and so confused. And I was in pain. My head was throbbing and so was my heart. There was nothing I could do.

I felt trapped.

"I've failed again," I whispered to myself, and closed my eyes.

The pain had subsided and my tears were gone. The bump on the backside of my head wasn't there anymore. All I could hear was silence and the sound of my heart beating. All I could see and feel was grass. Otherwise, it looked like I was on a blue canvas and standing on lush green plants.

"Emma," Adrian said. I turned around and saw him walking towards me. I was barefoot and wearing a dainty white daydress. It was another dream walking thing. I stared at him, not saying a word. After our last encounter, I'm not sure if I could. "Are you okay?" he asked me.

"Fine," I said. I definitely wasn't. "Tell me that you aren't Strigoi now," I whispered. I was afraid now. Very afraid. I was trapped in a horrible cramped cell with 3 menacing Strigoi standing guard and an evil Kindergarten teacher who kidnapped me.

"I'm not, don't worry," he said. Adrian had his brownish-hair tousled in that ever-so messy yet stylish way. He sat down on the grass and stared at the empty, blank blue canvas. "I like your outfit," he said, and grinned at me.

"How can you be so cheery in a time like this?" I asked, scowling at him. "And I wasn't wearing this in the first place," I muttered, crossing my arms over my chest. I was still thinking about Cass and all my other problems. But I sat down next to Adrian on the grass hoping I could calm myself down and be patient.

"I know Emma. I made you wear it," he said calmly. "I'm sorry about Cass," he said gently to me.

"There's nothing I can do," I said, frustrated. "I'm stuck in this cell with these 3 massive Strigoi guarding outside," I said, standing up all of a sudden. I began pacing around on the soft grass. "And guess what? Mrs. Applebaum started all this?!" I exclaimed. "Ugh," I muttered, and sat back down.
