When I wake up the next morning he isn't there. I look over to see a note. "Breakfast is in the oven, Ed." I smile and stretch. When I go to the oven and open it I see a really pretty omelet with veggies on top. "You can't even cook." I say to him even though he can't hear me. There's another note on the omelet. "Turn on the telly." It says. I smile and turn it on to reveal pitch perfect. I shriek and jump onto the couch and press play. After two hours of awesomeness later another note pops onto the screen. "Get dressed and open the door." I put on my black tee shirt that says "Rick James wants to be me" and my all black pants and my all black Converses. And leave my hair down because that's all I can do with it it's so short. It's just to my top lip. I look into the mirror and smile. I actually feel pretty today. I open the door and see rose petals on the floor. I laugh and follow them to the old school we went to. Thomas Mills High School. I see another note attached to the gate. "Go to the gym." I smile and shake my head, wondering what's going through his head. When I get to the gym I see him on the bleachers, with a navy blue suit and his red hair is neatly parted on the right side and combed down. He's laughing at something on his phone. "I feel underdressed." I say and he looks up at me and smiles "This old thing." He says walking up to me. "Ew." I say messing up his hair. "Thank you!" he says helping me until it looks like its normal mess. "My friend thought it would help but I insisted it was stupid." "It was. Why are we here?" "Well were having a kid." He says smiling. "So I've heard." "And I want to do this right." He says getting down on one knee. "So MaKenzie Jaimes Wood, will you do me the honor of being my lawfully wedded wife?" I cover my mouth with my hand and nod. "Yes?" he asks and I nod some more. "Yes. Yes! Oh my gosh yes!" I scream and he picks me up and swirls me. I shriek and hold him tight. He sets me down and slips a beautiful diamond ring on my finger. I laugh and kiss him. "Were getting married." I say smiling. "And having a kid." He says and I laugh "Why are we in a high school gym Ed?" I ask and he smiles "MaKenzie, will you go to this knock off prom with me?" "Umm... no." I say and he frowns and I laugh. "Kidding. I'd love to!" he smiles and takes a remote out of his pocket and pushes a button and 'Ribbons In The Sky' by Stevie Wonder is playing. He pulls me toward him and we slow dance. After a while he starts to hum along and my knees go weak. "You're such a good singer." I say "really? You always call me a terrible singer who should get a new job." "That's because I hated you." I say and he laughs. "What do you think of me now?" he asks and I smile. "I love you, Ed." "I love you too." He says and he holds me just a little bit closer. I smile and bury my face into the crook of his neck.
