I honestly think that she’s old enough.” “Honey, I still don’t think that this is the right time yet even though she’s turning 16 tomorrow she might not be able to take the blow…” “But don’t you think that she’s going to find out sooner or later? Since young people have been saying that she looks different from us… I honestly don’t want to hurt her and keep the truth from her. So what if she knows the truth that doesn’t change the fact that she’s still our little girl.” “ You’re right… Even the saying that she’s our daughter though the fact that she’s blonde whereas we’re brunette seems a bit far-fetch.” “But how are we going to break the news to her that she’s our adopted child which we found in a park on a bench alone? She’s going to be hurt knowing that she’s a abandoned baby…” “………”

Standing outside the door I clasped my mouth with tears gathering around my eyes after hearing that conversation, moments later the tears that gathered around my eyes started falling. And before I knew it I found myself in my room. Leaning against the door, I falling into my knees as though all my blood had been drained. I started sobbing bitterly and no matter how hard I tried to wipe my tears away they just wouldn’t stop. I took out my phone and started dialing Leah Estevez up the only girl that was willing to be my friend that I've known since I was 9. Holding onto the phone tightly with my trembling fingers with snots dripping down my nostrils, pacing back and forth around my room. Finally Leah answered the phone. “Hey Elena, What’s going on for you to be calling me in the dead of night? I thought you already slept since you always sleep early” “ Leah… I…” tears starts falling down her cheeks again even though I tried very hard to hold it back. “Elena! What’s wrong? Why are you crying? Are you okay?” I manage to stop her tears somehow and biting onto my lips I finally found the courage to speak.“ I.. I’m not my parents real daughter I’m someone that they found abandoned on a bench in some park alone!” I started sobbing bitterly again with tears overflowing my eyes “…..…” and it seems that Leah was also in shock that she couldn’t find words to say. Minutes later Leah seems to get herself back. “ How did you find out? Did you ask them if it was real?” “ How could it not be real when they were discussing to tell me this tomorrow!" I snapped. "I heard them clearly while they were having this conversation outside the room it couldn’t be a lie!” “ You know what Elena? I think its best that you stop thinking about it though I know it’s impossible, but try to get some sleep you wouldn’t want your parents to worry right? I’m sure even though you are not their real daughter they’ve always treated you as if you’re their real child so even if it’s the truth just accept it it’s not going to tear you and your parents apart. Plus it must be hard for them keeping this a secret for so many years. Okay Elena?” “You’re right... But who is my real parents? And why did they abandon me? Am I unwanted?” “Nonsense! I’m definitely sure that you’re not a unwanted child!” “Then what am I?” “Well I think that will be a question for you to ask your parents tomorrow when they bring this matter up. Maybe they'll know something.” “Okay... Thanks Leah… You’re really a good friend.” “Duh babe! Just know that I’ll always be there if you need me.” And before I know it I found herself smiling. “Well then I guess it’s goodnights sweetie” “Yea, goodnights...”
