-------------------------------<{Chapter 4: Truth}>---------------------
“We’re here.” “Whoa! That sure was fast.” God his house always seems to expand every single time I came, I wonder if you can call it a house when it looks more like a mansion.
“Elena darling! I haven’t seen you since last year’s Christmas party! How have you been?” “Uncle Robinson! I’ve missed you so much! I’ve been great! How about you?” Uncle Robinson is always so sweet and is considered as second father to me since I was young. “Oh I’m fine, thanks dear. Elena sweetie your parents are at the study room would you mind going up.” “Oh okay!” “Chance, Come here. I have something that I need to tell you.” “Sure dad.” I guess that uncle Robinson is going to tell him incase he accidently talk about something related to the taboo subject.
Study room… They are probably going to break the news to me before the dinner. I walked down the hallway that seems to be never ending and I finally reached the study room. I slowing reached out my fingers that were trembling, I guess I’m nervous but who wouldn’t? I bit my lips put a smile on my face, put my hand on the other and opened the door.
“Hey I’m here mum and dad!” Whoa it seems that they are more nervous as compared to me that they can’t even look me in the face. “Mum? Dad? What’s wrong? Are you not feeling well?” Of course I can’t have them finding out that I know the truth, “Err…Sweetie I have… No, we have something that we need… No, you need to know…” To my surprise it was dad that said that since he was on the objecting side “Yea? What is it that I have to know?” Then tension grew stronger, strong enough to fill up the whole room.
Sigh, I can’t bear looking at them like this anymore. If people didn’t know and walked past, we will look as if we’re at court, they are the guilty criminals waiting to confess their crimes to me, the jury. “Dad, Mum, I know what you’re going to say.” “What! There’s no way you would know what we’re going to tell you.” I guess they thought I was going to say something unrelated, sighed. “I do, I’m not your real daughter am I? I’m adopted. You found me on a bench in a park…” They looked at me in astonishment and confusion. I guess they are wondering how I know and for how long I’ve known the truth. “How… How did you find out?” “I found out last night when mum was having the conversation with you… I was outside the door when I heard it…” “I’m sorry honey we didn’t meant to hide this from you, It’s just that you were too young and...” I cut her off before she could continue and said, “ I understand, I’m not blaming both of you. I’m glad that you’ve adopted me and don’t worry, knowing the truth doesn’t chance anything you’re still my sweet and beloved only family in the world!” They started crying and I gave them a big hug. “Oh sweetie you will always be our baby girl! No one will be able to replace you too!” “Yea!” Tears started flowing down my face too, but this time it’s tears of joy.
“Mum, Do you know who’s my real parents by any chance?” she looked at me in confusion but seemed to understand that it’s understandable for me to want to know my birth parents and said, “I’m sorry but I do not know. But when I found you, you were wrapped up in a piece of cloth that seemed quite expensive with a ring around your neck. Here!” She handed me a diamond ring, which seemed expensive place in a necklace. “There’s no clue on who your real parents are except for the carving “A.C&M.S” carved on it. But why do you want to know?” I smiled and said, “I want to find them and know why did they abandon me…” “Honey… there’s no need for you to do that you know?” “Yea, I know but still I want to find out.” I hold onto her and dad’s hands. “I’m alright with it honey but if you need help you can come to me alright?” “Of course!” I grinned and gave each of them a kiss on the cheek.
“Wow do I get one?” Chance said all of a sudden, I was shock and I didn’t even realize he was at the door “No you don’t and have you ever heard of something called privacy?” I glared at him. “Whoa, Chill I was just kidding! My dad ask me to get you and your parents down for the dinner.” I snickered and said, “I was just joking! Did Mr. top model almost wet his pants?” “Oh shut up!” Hah! As expected, his expression was priceless! Blushing in embarrassment while walking away. “Elena, you shouldn’t tease him so much!” “But dad! Did you see his expression? It was priceless! Plus it’s my birthday, don’t I deserve some fun?” I pouted with my puppy dog eyes. “Haha! You’re right, Come on’ lets go to the dining hall”
