|Ranger|An angry scream came from the bathroom upstairs and then the sound of something breaking could be heard followed by a heavy silence. The noise then silence was enough to send my heart into overdrive. My heart sped up at the anguished scream and the sound of shattering glass and I found myself bounding up the stairs as fast as my legs would carry me.
"Abigail?" I called out when I reached the top of the stairs. I heard no reply and started to walk down the upstairs hallway with my heart rate picking up even more from the dreaded silence. A million things ran through my head and I knew that I had to find Abigail before I let my imagination go wild with assumptions.
"Abigail?" I called out more frantically as I walked down the hall then fell silent when my eyes moved to the closed bathroom door. I walked quickly to the door and tried the doorknob finding it unlocked. The door swung open and violently slammed against the bathroom wall from the force I used to open it and I suddenly felt like I had walked into a horror movie.
Blood was the first thing I saw. The second was the spider web like fractures in the mirror lined with blood that dotted the sink and countertop. A sickening feeling came over me at seeing the blood and knowing that it had came from Abigail.
"What the hell is wrong with you, cabron?" Abigal's voice came from nearby and I looked down to find her in a fetal position with her hand bleeding out onto the floor. "You almost gave me a heart attack."
"What the f.uck happened to your hand?!" I blurted out in alarm with my eyes unable to move away from the sight of her bloody hand. She looked down at her hand then back up at me as if bleeding out on the bathroom floor was the most natural thing in the world.
"And?" She drew out slowly like it wasn't a big deal that her f.ucking hand was covered in blood and dripping all over the floor. "Don't act like you care; just go away you d!ck."
"You don't think I care? You don't think I care that you're sitting on the bathroom floor bleeding out everywhere?" I asked incredulously. She was losing blood and didn't think I cared?! Did she really think I was that much of an asshole? I watched as her brows furrowed then she used her one good hand to brace herself as she stood from the blood covered floor.
"F.UCK!" I yelled when Abigail lost her balance from the amount of blood she had lost and stumbled forward. I bolted forward winding my arms around her soft waist and pulled her flush against my body before sweeping her up into my arms.
"Where are you taking me?" She asked as I eased my way down the stairs with her in my arms.
"Hospital." I answered gruffly. That one simple word sent Abigail into a thrashing, kicking frenzy. You would think that I had said I was going to drag her into an alley and butcher the girl from how she started to freak out on me.
"No, no hospital! I'm fine just--just give me some bandages and I'll fix it up myself." She sounded frantic and fought to get out of my arms almost causing me to drop her as I stepped off of the stairs.
"Jesus Christ Abigail, chill! You're bleeding too much and you need to get your hand professionally examined." I urged and she continued to thrash.
"No, please no!" Abigail yelled sounding as if she were terrified to go. Was she scared of hospitals? Did she have a phobia? "Please Ranger, don't take me into one of those things!" She stopped thrashing and resorted to gripping onto my shirt tightly with her fists, even her bloodied one.
"Okay." I spoke down to her finding her dark eyes looking up at mine wide and glistening with unshed tears. Damn, she was terrified. "I'll just see what I can do, okay?"
