I have to say summer is the best. So much free time to do what ever I want. Although I always waste it by staying indoors all day either writing, Reading or watching day long marathons of friends. Today however I was going to go on a date. I haven't been on a date since Scott.
I better not be one of those bitches who compares everyone to their exes.
I applied dark red lipstick on my lips, wore my usual winged eyeliner. I did a final scan of myself in my body mirror. I took in my Mustard long sleeved turtle neck with my shorts and tights with the addition of my creepers. Not gonna lie I was pretty cute but I need to trim my fringe pretty soon.
I walked down the stairs to see my mother there. "You heading out?." she asked looking up at me. "Yup going to Logan's." I said pausing on the stairs. "Well okay, tell me how it is after?" She forced a wrinkled smile. "Bye." I hopped out the door and crossed to Logan's house.
"Hey gorgeou- wow you look fantastic." Logan noticed looking me up and down. "Well I mean of course!" He laughed and gave me a hug. It was so soft yet so strong I felt like I could melt in his arms. "Well we should go then." He said pointing to a beat down pickup truck. "That literally has death written all over it." I sniggered. "So does that turtle neck unless you're into choking." He winked as he got in the driver's side. "Go fuck yourself." I snorted. "I'd rather go fuck yourself." He chuckled as I got in the passenger side.
Well this is gonna be a wild date.
I had no idea where we were going. Anytime I asked He replied with 'that's for me to know and your you to find out.'
Eventually we had reached our destination. Being new to the town and what not I had no idea where we were. We seemed to be at the entrance of a forest trail. The sun was high in the sky but it was a little cold as the wind brushed by us. As a child I used to be so fascinated by forest but had never actually been in one. I looked at Logan as the sun reflected off his skin. I suddenly felt a little nervous, as a result to this I took an involuntary step back.
"Don't be scared Flo, it'll be fun." Logan said stretching his arm out for me to hold his hand. I hesitantly took it. Logan began to lead us into the forest. "Awesome isn't it." He smiled as he guided me deeper into the wood. " I don't think I wanna do this." I said gripping his hand tighter."We'll be fine gorgeous I need to show you this other place ,trust me." I did a tiny nod to show that I was going to trust him.
We continued to walk through and my head immediately snap down to my feet as with each step there was a crunch of leafs. I looked up at the tree's branches and how they were covering the sky. I've only seen these sights in movies, it was so beautiful that it was unreal. I felt Logan's eyes watching me so I turned to look at him. He was smiling. "What?" I asked impatiently. "You're just so cute that's all." He chuckled. "Shut up and let's just get to this place you need to show me."
We arrived at the end of the woodland and there was a restaurant that was banging out all kinds of old music but it was situated at the edge of a cliff. There seemed to be nobody here except staff. "You hungry?" He smirked. " I mean only a little bit, like I could do with a coffee right now." I shrugged. He let go of my hand and snaked his arm around my waist. " Coffee it is."He began to lead me to the restaurant.
We were greeted by a small plump woman with curly hair and freckles that fell on her forehead. "Logan! Oh it's so good to see you." She said jumping up and was about to hug him when she saw me. "Oh and who's this?" She gave him a nudge whilst raising her eyebrows. " This is Florence." he announced removing his arm from my waist. I felt so awkward so I nervously smiled at the woman who was now turning red. "Oh my she's gorgeous an soo cute." She squealed. Logan brought his head down to my height and whispered in my ear. "Told ya." it sent shivers down my spine but I was not about to show him that. Instead I playfully nudged him hard in the ribs. "Thank you so much ms..-" "Oh none of that dear call me Judy." That name really suited her. She one hundred percent looks like a Judy.
"So what will it be?" She said pulling a note pad and pen out of nowhere. He gave her our order and we sat down outside. " You close with her then?" I asked curiously. " Well as close as you can get to someone who was your foster mother." He chuckled. Oh He was a foster child? " You're probably gonna see more of the foster fam as they all work here." We immediately grew silent as Judy came out with our coffees. " Thanks Judy." Logan smiled. she nodded as she bobbed away. "by the way." I spoke. " My brother told me what you said to him, what was all that about?" I smirked as I lifted my coffee mug to my lips. He clenched his jaw. "I meant exactly what I said." I was left with nothing to say.
There was a dramatic change in the jazzy music that was playing before to a slow waltz. Logan raised his eyebrows in response. "You still owe me that dance you know." He had a huge grin plastered on his face. "No no I don't dance all slow and shit." I chuckled. "Neither do I." He shrugged. He began to pout and give me the cutest puppy eyes ever. A huge sigh escaped me. "Fine." I said grabbing his arm as we went to an empty spot on the deck. He placed his hands on my waist as I put my arms around his neck. He pulled me in closer. I felt the heat radiate off his body. I lay my head on his shoulder as his chin rested on my head. "You know what would be so funny? Imagine we were like doing the tango or something and I like had to dip you and you banged your head off a table." I started giggling. I lifted my head to look at him. We were so close. "That's not funny to me I'd be hurt." I said playful punching his chest." You would obviously find it funny later." He chuckled.
All the lights around me faded as the sun was setting. I held on to Logan a lot tighter. I felt so safe and so comforted. I could stay like this forever.
