Now I feel guilty

Later that day...

"So Vanessa knows..."
I whispered,taking a seat next to Laura on the couch.

"It's not just Nessa,Ross. It's the whole school. They think I'm crazy or some kind of whore."
Laura started pulling on her hair.

"I'm sure nobody thinks that. Why would they? You're exagerrating."

"I am not. At all. Who gets engaged at 19?"

"Just calm down. It's not that bad. When I was young,peolple were getting married at the age of sixteen,so it's not that bad"
I shrugged.

"You've got to help me,Ross."
Laura begged.

"What am I supposed to do,Laur?"

"Well I am legally your soon to be wife,right?"

"Yeah,so?"

"Let's move in together."

"What? Laur,are you going insane?! You just said that you don't want no one to find out that we're "engaged" and now you want to move in with me?!"

"Yeah. Pack your things. We're moving together. Meet you in front of my house in 30 minutes."
She hugged me and then rushed out.

What the actual heck is wrong with this girl?

Time passed by and all I did is stare at the window intensely. Something I haven't done in a while. How could the world change so much? I mean... I was here all this time. How could I not notice these major changes?

Humans are worse than I thought. Life isn't what I remembered it like. Humans are more dangerous,more evil. They are devils who pretend to be the children of God,I swear.

"Ross! I thought we agreed to meet one hour ago in front of my house!"
Laura burst in my room.

"Wait. So you were actually being serious?"

"Duh! And judging by your dumb question,I'm guessing you didn't pack anything."
Laura sighed.

"Laur,I'm a demon. I don't need any of these. My house is literally everywhere I like."

"Oh... Well let's get going."
She grabbed my hand.

"Laur... Are you sure about this? Just think about everything you'll leave behind..."
I tried convincing her.

"Ross... My classmates,my friends.. They don't think it's normal. I'm too young to get married. Usually girls around my age get married for money."
She sighed,plopping down on the couch next to me.

"I just don't want you to do something you'll regret later on."
I said,wrapping my arm around her.

"I won't. I think it's the best thing to do now... Please trust me on this one. I know what I'm doing. After we'll save Angel,I will come back. I promise."
She snuggled up in my chest.

"Alright then. How about you spend the night and tomorrow we leave?"
I kissed her forehead.

"Really? Thank you ,Ross. You're the best!"

"I know."
I smiled proudly,making her laugh.

"Now where do you want to go Mr. Cocky?"

"I'd like to go to my home town..."

"And where's that?"

"That's the problem. I have absolutely no idea."
I admitted with a frown.

"Oh... Then how are we supposed to find it?"

"I don't know,but we need to get there somehow. In the note that I recieved,it was written 'the place where it all started'. Angel found me just before I left the town. That's where the car crushed into a demon that infected my soul."
I explained.

"Don't worry. We'll find a way."
Laura said.

"I sure hope so..."

And just like that,Laura fell asleep. It was weird,but not in the bad way. It's just... I was hugging her,just like we were a ...thing, you know? That kind of weird...

"Pssttt! Laur! Wake up!"

"5 more minutes..."
She groaned.

"It's 5 am. If you don't want people in front of my door,asking where are you,I suggest you to go upstairs,do your morning things,so we can leave. Plus... You fell asleep on me and I couldn't move."
I whined.

"Pffttt! Stop being such a crying baby! I haven't had a good night sleep like this in a while..."
She said,standing up.

"Well I'm glad you slept well,but I am a demon,not a pillow."
I glared at her.

"Oh shus! You are very comfy by the way."
She giggled and ran to the bathroom.

Girls...

Whatever. I don't think we'll need breakfast after all. If we get hungry,we could just stop at a restaurant and eat something. So without any other actions,I went straight to my bedroom to get dressed and all.

One hour later,I was still waiting for Laura. What could she possibly do that is taking so fucking long!?

"Alright. I'm ready."
She said,finally coming down.

"Fina-"
And there was a knock on the door.

"Who is it?"
Laura whispered.

"I have no idea. Usually you're the only one coming over. And Vanessa's boyfriend sometimes. Go upstairs. I'll take care of them and then we leave."
I spoke,ready to open the door,as Laura ran up.

"Hi,Ross."
Vanessa greeted me. She looked mad. Great...

"Hi Nessa. What are you doing here?"
I askee as nonchalantly as I could.

"It's about Laura. Look. I know you didn't come to pick her up yesterday,but she didn't come home last night. I need to discuss with her something really important and I was thinking that maybe she came here last night."
She explained.

"No,she didn't come here. I haven't seen her since yesterday with the fire thing. Are you sure she wasn't home?"

"Of course I am. She wasn't in her room... Well thank you for your time. If she stops by,send her home please. I'm worried."

"Alright."
Now I feel guilty...
