My mom isn't dead. I can't believe it but as I check Ian for fangs, I find none. I hope she is dead and someone just guessed me and Ruby's name for her.

"It mightn't be her." I try to convince myself more than Dante who takes my hand and squeezes it.

"It might not be her," He repeats and pokes the stick in Ian's back. "Who is he?"

"Bec's uncle, mom liked him and wouldn't have killed Bec's only family." I hate that I want to be wrong about mom being alive. Dante hugs me. We pull away and he kisses my forehead. It sends a shiver through me and I look into his almost black eyes.

"It will be okay. Just stay strong." He tucks my hair behind my ear. I smirk at him wanting to make a joke.

"Did you just quote my mother?" He smirks back.

"What? No, maybe." I punch him in the shoulder. He shoves me and accidentally pushes me into a lake.

"At least you didn't ruin the jacket or I would shoot you." He holds out his hand. I take it and pull him into the lake. He splashes me and I retaliate. We both laugh and climb out of the lake.

"I have not had that much fun in years," Then the heavens open and we get even more soaked but Dante doesn't have to wear the blanket since the sun's gone. "We need to find somewhere to camp out."

"There's an old ranger station about a mile away." I remember the last time I was there to spread the news about mom.

"Do you trust me?" He asks and I nod. "Get on my back and close your mouth." I don't question and wrap my arms around his neck as I climb up. Then he runs faster than Sonic the Hedgehog and I get hit by millions of bugs. We stop and he collapses.

"C'mon. Give me your arm." He offers his arm and I help him into the station. I put him on an old couch and build a fire.

"We have to get out of these clothes," He says suddenly as I light the fire. I whirl around eyes wide. "I do not mean it like, I mean to not get hyperthermia we have to put on dry clothes." I nod, my heart slowing down from the shock. I take out the spare clothes from my bag, some of Kyle's clothes had been mixed in which I had to him. There isn't anywhere else to get changed except the room we are in.

"We turn around and don't look." He nods in agreement and turns around. I put on a black tank top with a pair of black skinny jeans. I pick up my clothes and notice the mirror on the wall I'm facing which shows another mirror where Dante is looking. We look at each other in the mirrors.

"I did not notice the mirrors." Dante looks as flustered as I feel.

"Ditto." He looks at my tank top with a raised eyebrow. He crosses the room wearing Kyle's most hated t-shirt and jeans and holds my face.

"I would like to..." He doesn't finish because I kiss him and forget the world until I hear the SOB.

"Dante, how much longer do I have to wait to cure the world of our kind?" Kazimir drawls which sounds weird with his russian accent. Dante grabs the radio and takes a deep breath.

"We will be there by tomorrow," Dante is shaking. "Can we speak to the others?"

"Sure but be here by noon tomorrow," He opens a door and I hear someone whimpering. It's Kyle. "You have five minutes."

"Has he hurt you guys?" I ask feeling dread.

"He took all the girls." Blue says and I imagine the worst things happening to them.

"Including Ruby and Maria?" Dante sounds scared.

"I tried to stop him," Kyle sounds in so much pain. "I couldn't stop him, I'm sorry."

"What did he do to you?" I feel pissed and moments from punching something.

"He dislocated my shoulder but the others are too much of wimps to put it in place." The rain stops and I know what needs to be done. Something must have shown on my face.

"Get Kazimir, we are going to get help." Dante looks sad but does it anyway. I take his hand and squeeze.

"Don't you dare." Kyle states while Blue asks the guards for Kazimir. I hear the door open.

"What is it?" Kazimir demands.

"We'll be there by dawn if you help Kyle." I whisper feeling like I just sold my soul to Lucifer himself.

"Deal but if you don't, I will make him see the ladies die youngest to oldest." I hold back the urge to swear at him and Dante looks like he's doing the same.

"We will be there." Dante growls and the radio dies.

"I'm going to punch a tree," I say before asking "Want to join me?" He shakes his head and cups my face. I swallow because his gaze is intense and he kisses me harder than ever before. I wrap my arms around his neck and he pulls away breathing hard. He sits down on the couch and I join him.

"If we kiss anymore, I might take this too far." He doesn't tell me what he means but I understand.

"I.Don't.Care." I kiss him hard and he pushes me onto the couch. He's about to kiss my throat when the radio comes on again.

"Two minutes with the girls." Kazimir sounds smug like he knows he interrupted something.

"Jade, is the others okay?" Kat asks and I pick up the radio hoping she can't tell what had happened.

"Kyle got his shoulder dislocated," My voice sounds husky. "How are you guys?"

"I think they're arranging our marriages except Ruby who he's trying to make choose between being human and vampire." Bec sounds uncomfortable which means she's in something pink or frilly.

"Is Maria there?" Dante asks fear catching in his throat.

"I am here, fratello." Maria's wheezing. "I did not miss corsets."

"Hold on, my little sister is choosing to either be human or vampire?" I think I misheard them.

"Yes and if she chooses to be human before the blood moon they'll kill her instead of you." I really need to punch something.

"We have to be there by dawn or Kyle will watch you guys and Ruby die." Kat swears and someone opens the door.

"Time is up," Kazimir the bastard says and I hear a smile in his voice. "See you at six o'clock." The radio dies again.

"I hope that SOB burns in hell," I realise Dante is still on top of me. "Mind getting off me?" He rolls off.

"Want to punch a tree every five minutes to feel better?" He asks looking really pissed and I get off the couch. I kiss him softly and he kisses me back harder. I pull away.

"We need to get moving, put the blankets back on." My black sneakers are dry and I put my damp clothes into my backpack. Dante hands me his as well and our hands touch. Electricity travels through my body. I stuff the clothes into the backpack and walk out of station into a woman with brown hair. She's my height, has the same grey eyes and a marine uniform.

"Hello Jadey," Mom says "I've missed you so much."
