1: How did you find wattpad?

I found out about Wattpad through my daughter-in-law.  Lona has a Wattpad account.  If there is one person on earth who reads as much as I do, it is Lona.    She loves the stories on Wattpad and recommended I try putting my stories on there.  So, after checking it out.  Reading a few stories.  I took the plunge and just did it.  That was in May of this year, 2011

2: What genre of books to you like to read/write?

I am pretty eclectic in my reading tastes, anything except horror. I have too much imagination to read horror. I can see what’s happening too graphically. When I look back at my reading choices in the past, I see they tended towards the sci-fi fantasy/ Young Adult titles. I have always loved a good romance as long as it isn’t too graphic. I like to leave a little something to the imagination. As to my writing, it has followed somewhere along the same lines as my reading preferences. The first novel I ever completed but was never published, was a historical romance. (See my bio. It briefly mentions its demise) A Bride for the Asking is actually my second novel, and so far is my best work to date. It also is a Historical Romance. I love History and don’t mind the research to get my facts as straight as possible.

3: Where did the idea for 'A Bride for the Asking' come from?

I was fortunate enough to have had the experience in my life of love at first sight. So, I think I identify with situations where that possibility exists. What better way for two strangers to meet and fall in love than in what I think of as a Mail Order Bride situation. I started A Bride for the Asking specifically to qualify for entry into an online Romance Writer’s Club I wanted to join on another website, back in 2007. I began setting up the plot, and when it came to setting, I stuck to the familiar. I am from the South, so the Civil War came to mind. I chose the post-war period, a time of chaos in the south. Out of those few thoughts, Rose McGregor was born. Her story just grew from there.

4: What do you do when you aren't on Wattpad?

I write. I write every day. It keeps me focused. I cannot not write. Also, I am married to the world’s gentlest, most kindhearted man—my very own Woodrow, if you will. He is an avid Classic Car Enthusiast. When I’m good, he takes me out in a ride in one of his babies. Going on those road trips with him is the best part of my life. He never gets lost. We have adventures instead. How exciting is that? I get so many good ideas out riding in those old cars with him. I’ll have to live forever to turn them all into stories.
